AP -- has been caught from behind a good bit this year. I think it is a sign that his back or something is bothering him. He still is the best back in the NFL. They ned to sign Chester T. to a long term deal. ON 4th down Chilli went for it and that is OK, but right up the middle with Dugan? Ironacally the annoucers had just said before the play that they shuld not run up the middle. YOu see a different level of committment from Rice than BB. Give credit where credit is do. The announcers once again creditied the great coaching staff of the Vikings with Rice's improvment. Rice himself says most of the credit goes to Chris Carter and the summer workout. This staff is getting the benefits of other people's work Chris Carter's and Bret F coaching.

8-1 is good though. Sad to see GB lose casue it will take us one more game to win the division. Happy to see GB win cause it put the Cowboys 2 games back.

Did anyone else notice he was taken down with a "horse-collar" tackle that wasn't called? In fact, he was grabbed by the collar before the fumble. Hmmmmm.

Jumbotron would be nice-or how about the crowd changing it's tone as the Kitten closed in?

Peterson reaches 4000 yards in 37 games compared to 59 for Chuck Foreman. That's crazy.

Replays show it was a horse collar as the result was he was dragged to the ground from it. Forunately he wasn't hurt by it. Vikes were a superior team. This was not a well officiated game by any means. If the NFL is doing their job of protecting players Buchanon will be fined for the horsecollar when the films are reviwed.

Interesting! I'd like to read the quotes from Rice where he gives Chris Carter credit for most of his growth. There's no way Carter can spend three days with Rice and have a greater impact on him than a staff that has spent months training, coaching and designing plays for him. Doesn't this make you wonder if there's something rotten in Denmark?

I know what articles you're referring to but don't recall Rice giving Carter all that credit.

Rice has done a great job of fulfilling the promise he showed as a rookie and recovering from last years injury related let down. I just fail to see where his success is a sign of bad coaching. lol

This made me laugh...this post being "judged" as "mean"!

Someone does not like the Jumbotron? Or could it be one of the rare, endangered Kitten fans?

Horse collar tackes are penalized as a personal foul, so if the officials had done their job, the fumble would have been negated by the personal foul penalty.

The ref's missed the horsecollar on Peterson, so we should have kept posession. I also think Rice was untouched on his long pass down to the 2, he lunged into the endzone so I thought that was a TD also.

Where did those ref's come from? They won't be working any playoff games!! What about that play where our returner was standing out of bounds and they leveled him and edwards never touched his helment on the quarterbacks. Were lucky AD never got
hurt with that horse collar tackle.

I agree..Im not sure why chilly diddnt challenge that. There was some really bad calls in this game and a lot of non-calls too but you cant use it as an excuse. I have rarely seen an NFL game where I thought the refs called a fair game. Its just part of the game and you have to play through.
The Vikes were sloppy at best and should have won by a lot greater margin if they had their crap together. Hopefully they will take the rest of the games more seriously.

RICE/SHOWTIME & AP/AD were both awesome yesterday. It is obvious that Favre has made everyone on the team better and more confident. I like this teams chances even better than the 98 team, just because they have better chemistry and a little better defense. One little nitpick from yesterday...If you go back to the play in which AP/AD has the long run and fumbles (PS He only gets caught b/c Buchannon had a running start)....If you watch closely you'll see Rice trailing him and he slows down/let's up. If he continues running hard all the way down trailing AP/AD...He (Rice) probably has a good chance of recovering the fumble...check it out. Yeah I know it's nitpicking...but just an observation... Rice still almost recoverd the ball but over ran it by about a foot... Other than that keep it up, this is the most fun I've ever had as a Viking's fan... Just a great year and exciting every week! SKOL VIKES!

Doesn't look like AP will overcome his Fumbleitis anytime soon :(

paraphrased quote " when you shake APs hand its like shaking a hand of stone!"

I don't mind the fumbles that much...of course it sucks to see him fumble but the trade-off with a RB of his talent only comes once in a long time...and he's a Viking!!! Remember Marcus Allen, a HOF RB. Had many fumbles during his career but his overall talent and skills made him one of the greats. I would take AP over M Allen any day.

The Vikings passed on Marcus Allen is that draft to select Darrin Nelson.

Why does Berrian keep getting his number called? When is it time to cut our losses with him and put in Jaymar or Reynaud? The guy is never open and when Favre hits him in the hands the guy drops it. He's a 135 lbs WR with above avg speed who can't catch. Cut him in the off-season.

We need another big time WR and our offense would be unstoppable.

The horse-collar play was a horrible non-call by the refs, how did they not see that? I mean not only was that the first thing Buchanon grabbed but he proceed to drag him down by it after the ball popped out. I think when the lions play the refs tend to let some of those things go, trying to help them maybe win one.

Terrible call on Ray Edwards too, he's just trying to make a play while the QB still had the ball, that was BS. PS. why is Brian Robinson jumping offsides at nose-tackle on the punt? Just stare at the ball Brian, when it moves so do you. However I did like the fair-catch right before halftime from him, he's learning.
