Given that, Ponder appears to be the future so forget a vet QB, as you state. I got a feeling we will be a younger team when all is said and done. So long to some veterans, and thanks.
This article states the numbers listed are only for players currently under contract for the 2011 season. Shows Vikes roughly at $108.4M...without the signing of this years rookies. Do you have a link for the $5M over figure? Regardless there will need to be a lot of contracts recunstructed and a lot of dead weight gone just to sign Ponder at this point.

Could be worse...Cowboys $136.6M....Jerry Jones will be cutting players left anf right this year...lol

I like surrounding myself with people I like and dumping the rest.
There opinions mean nothing to me.
Avant can be summed up in a word
DICK.
Don't need him
don't want him.
Complete waste of time and Mag said the rest.

If a vet comes in and we're 2-6 by mid season, they'll be screaming for Ponder so, that makes sense. This lockout shit really messed things up.
If he does start day one and is good though, we'll know we finally have a franchise QB after like....forever.

Well pardner ..... you just got your "vet" ...... another ill-fated grab for glory ...... good "old" Donovan McNabb. Played like ka-ka last year.

This really explains a lot of things about the Vikings. UnReal.

<quoted text>Jackson had his chance looked good sometimes but he failed. Leinart never looked like an NFL QB and he has a weak arm. At this point Jackson has a better future then Leinart.
So much for the Leinart BS going to Seattle playing for his dad...he resigned with the Texans

I think the fact that McNabb came from the teachings of Brad Childress (whom we all would like to forget) and was directly compared to Tavaris Jackson (who we also would like to forget). Isn't that enough.

Brett Farce will return to the Vikes. Zigi Wilf will pay his salary in cash money - no checks involved.
