Sports - As I See It - Bills May Be NFL's Surprise Team

Full story: WGRZ Buffalo

Maybe Mike Mularkey was a better coach than we thought at the time. While I'm still not sold on whether or not Dick Jauron is, or will be, a successful NFL head coach, I AM becoming more convinced the Bills ...

Simply put... the Bills must win both their next games and be 2-3 by the Bye Week, or bye-bye to Marv and D-Jauron.

One more thing: Ralph WIlson is more to blame for the Bills' state of affairs. If only he realized that you need better players and better coaches, and be willing to do and spend whatever is needed, the Bills would not be in the spot they've been in all this time.

Six seasons of mediocrity and ineptness. All starting with the foolish decisions of Feb. 2001. This is six years too many.

Hey Ed, Do You think the Bills are still playing Possum with their Offense LOL?

You have to be more objective in th epre-season and judge on what you see, not what you want to BILLieve lol

Great article, I completely agree with you. I've been saying for the last couple of years that the Bills need 2 things, A tall physical wide receiver and a dominanting defensive end. The secret is out on Lee Evans around the NFL, so I'm not totally shocked that he is not as productive as last year. If we had a big physical receiver, he could take the pressure off Evans, and make the plays that our short speedy receivers can't make. With Defensive End, Schobel is good, but he doesn't always get get pressure on the QB. If the Bills plan to seriously compete with New England or the other top teams in the NFL, the Bills need that dominate defensive end to pressure the QB and force him to make bad throws...etc. Schobel definitely needs help, and I don't don't Kelsay or Denney are good enough.

I used to be a fan of the Bills, but with the crummy moves they have made, I am gone and lost forever. The most recent disheartening Sunday menagerie has me asking Why haven't the Bills signed David Greene of Georgia Bulldogs fame????? He was in town 2 weeks ago for a "try out" and NOBODY, incompetant press included, picked up on it. Where are you people? Apparently the Bills are even more incompetant, as they have not signed him. Of course, why would they want him? He has an arm AND brains. Silly me, what am I thinking? He probably took one look at those bumbling idiots on One Bills Drive and high-tailed it out of Buffalo. Smart kid, if you ask me....who in their right mind would want to play in Buffalooserville?

Go Sabres! Now there's a team with brains and talent!

although it's not all of JP's fault,he is not helping it.i do not think he is that good of a QB.and i think Jauron needs to go,he should NOT be a head coach in the NFL.

I agree with Mike...No true fan is ever lost or abandons his team. He sticks with the team through thick and thin.

"stick(ing) with the team through thick and thin"

At some point, you have to know when to get off the merry-go-round, and face facts.

Until One Bills Drive gets its act together and starts pursuing excellence again, we may see more and more "lost fans" becoming the norm.

We won't be going to any Superbowl with a coaching staff that has already conceded the season. Twice and three times, the Bills could have aired the ball out and elected to run istead. it's not Ralph Wilson (he's looking for a profit), it's not Marv Levy (He got the talent there), it's not the Players (they have been sacrificing their bodies to win). Only Dick Jauron and the quarterback coaching staff are sporting the loser badge this season. They have no heart and without heart there is no winning. It's a shame that the 12th man is ready, the team is not. Get rid of Dick and the quarterback coaching staff and find someone with heart.

The Bills could be turned around just like the Sabres were with a new owner. Need some young fresh blood at the very top

I'm too cheap to buy a head coach. Cash to the cap! And not a penny more!

"I'm too cheap to buy a head coach. Cash to the cap! And not a penny more!"

How about a fan revolt? Fans of all kinds(true-blue, fair-weather, passively interested, whatever) march in on One Bills Drive, take over your office and activities, and thank you for your sudden and generous $700-million-plus donation to our cause: Making the Bills champions?

That would be epic.

I think from what I seen that the Bills just don't want it enough. Edwards is a much better QB than JP will ever be. It's like they get ahead in the score and then just give up. I think they have the talent they just don't use it.
