Mistakes bring down Giants in loss to Cowboys -

Full story: Newsday

The toughest thing to swallow was the same bitter pill the Giants have been swallowing in big games for the last couple of seasons under Tom Coughlin.

I know now I should have selected Big Ben in the first round. Manning is another of my first round busts!

Glad I am out of football!!

eli never seems able to take charge in the"big" games, to lead the team, and maybe, what you see with eli is all you are going to get. good, but not good enough. just look at romo, loose on the field, having fun, and completing passes when needed. big difference from what we get with eli.

The Giants better start looking for a new marque quarterback. Three delay of game penalties is all on Eli. That is just BS. No more excuses that is so much BS. I hate to make excuses because the holding call on Boss was also BS. We scored enough points to win the game placing one back on Owens is nuts. I know we could of got beat other ways if we doubled up on him but your talking od one of the best in the game. Terrel Owens regardless of what you think of him always wants the ball in the big plays and it was just catch with Romo yesterday. penalties and catch . Throwing the ball inaccurate we lived with, not pulling off the big plays we lived with but (3) delay of games. A Marque quarterback just does not have those types of mental lapses in a big game. Peyton and Brady wouldn't do it or either would Brett Farve or Rivers. It's just stupid and John Mara as much as respect him and loved his Dad has to bring Coughlin and manning on the carpet for this horrible exhibition on Sunday.

Yes. That's the main difference between these teams. Romo steps it up in big games, and Eli always has the same decent-but-not-good-enough performance. This won't change.

I actually think it's great the NFL is having games in other parts of the world. With the misery all over the world today, why not let internatiional fans enjoy the fun too?

Hey Listen up all you Eli bashers in here Today I have news for you guys, I wasn't all his fault!! Correct me if I'm wrong didn't the defense give up 31 PTS? And Eli wasn't on the field when Ross had crucial penalty called on him, or how about when the rookie Johnson got a late hit called on him? Was it Eli that got called for the Holding that negated Jacobs touchdown? Or the Flag on Boss that wiped out an 83 yrd run was that Eli's fault? The 3 delay of game calls were certantly his fault but come on people be fair there is plenty of Blame to go around after this lose!

Somebody might want to file a missing persons report for Osi Umenyiora... I didn't see him yesterday. Did he suit up?? This guy is a fool. He gets his butt kicked by Flozell Adams all day and he has the nerve to say the Cowboys "are not a better team." Is he serious?? Two games, two losses. Both by double digits. Maybe if the Cowboys would have started a rookie tackle for the first time in his career, we would have seen Osi make some plays.

There are mistakes in every game; the Cowboys made several of them, especially early with penalties. Giants fans are simply expressing the realization that Eli is not, and never will be, an elite quarterback. This wouldn't be such a huge deal if he weren't drafted number 1, with Big Ben and others available lower, and if the team didn't surrender additional picks to move up.

The point is Eli may not have lost the game, but he didn't do enough to win it. That's a common theme; he never plays at a higher level when it counts. Romo, and a few other quarterbacks, do.

were u expecting another 6 sack performance again? The Cowboys have the biggest offensive Line in Football! And He's right? What did they really do besides their wide recivers that was so special? Barber, whitten and Jones all got shut down in the game. The Defensive line did their part, this one goes soley on the Secondary and their inability to cover anybody!

I may be naive, but I actually believe one day Eli's cool disposition will be considered his best trait. I hope I'm right.

EliFAn,
You've got to realize that ELI instills no confidence in Giant fans or players. How long are we going to make excuses for this guy. HE WAS THE NUMBER 1 PICK FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! He is not an elite quaterback and he is not reliable to make plays when his team needs it the most. Look at his "Aw Shucks" expression...would you want to got to battle with him as your general? Giants must draft a QB and start making plans to replace ELI. He doesn't come up big in big games, he doesn't have star power, and he doesn't inspire his teammates...It seem that Tiki had it right all along!

Actually, the outcome is exactly what I expected. The pass rush and all of your blitz packages were ineffective against a good offensive line and smart qb. That was the point I was making, but you obviously needed me to spell it out for you. The Giants did well shutting down Witten, but that did nothing more than allow Owens and Crayton to run free. You also say the Cowboys running game was shut down?? 24 carries for a 3.4 average is pretty effective if you aske me. They ran the ball just enough to keep your sorry LB's and DB's up close, which would have had a much better game had the "nasty" d-line been able to pressure Romo. It starts up front no matter who you play. The Giants knew coming in that if there front four couldn't pressure on Romo it was game over.

This only proves that Acorsi overrated Mannings ability. He's not a bad player but not the star that the Giants invested their future in. Rothlesberger was sitting right there waiting for the Giants to take him and they let it slip away for a name (Manning.)

3.4 Yds a carry is impressive to you? Hmm Jacobs averages 5.0 yds a carry that makes no sense. And in case you didn't notice the Boys were keeping a TE a lot of times for Max Protection. Let's be real here The Cowboys Knew they were gonna attack the secondary and they did a great job, It's up to the DB's to stop them. If you gonna play man to man you better Jam the receiver. They executed better than Giants. Period that doesn't mean they are Better!
