I appreciate your honesty about Favre, eric. The guy was great in the past, but I absolutely cringe when someone says "he can still play".<quoted text>
Strong how does a guy who can't play, take a very average offense with 1 playmaker and throw for over 3000yds.

I can see some of us will never agree on the QB situation..During the game there were signs wanting Brett back..Yesterday when Driver and Henderson were asked what they taught, Driver said he figures him to be back and hopes he will..Henderson said it's Brett who needs to decide and hopes he will..There were a alot of #4 jerseys at the game..Most everyone knows my feelings on wanting him (Brett) back..Granted he cannot preform like a younger person but he still
makes guys miss or gets away...One thing he brings to the table is experince, he picks up reads by the defenses and changes the play..(this is why there are miscommunication problems).. This to me makes up for some of the bad passes thrown..

I just cringe when were behind and Brett has to throw. A few years ago, if we are down 10 with 8 min. to go, rest assured ,Favre will throw at least 1 td and we "ll win it or its close. Now if we are behind, we are almost guarrentied Favre will get picked and it gets worse. Its not a knock on Favre, the man is 37 and is passed his prime, theres no shame in that, hes played his ass off for 15 years, and is beaten up abit, but all the people who love Favre take offense to it.The offensive line will balk up in the off season, Ted will get us another T,E., running back, and i would emagine a receiver with big play ability!!Last year Ted worked on the defense and this year its the offense. If Favre comes back, hes a year older, but the line will be better and if Ted puts together a good offensive draft that will help Favre out and take the pressure off of him.The prob. is we dont have a backup at this point and everyone is in panic mode. Rodgers wont be ready until after the season has started, and Martin is unproven, so its draft or freeagentcy.

Thought I'd let you know eric that I just read an article about Rodgers which said he got off of the crutches this week and will be at the first QB school which starts March 15th. It did not say when he would be able to play.

I also think you are right when you say TT will work on the offense. Of course everyone will be waiting to hear the decision on Brett, which I expect to come before free agency. I think the Bears game will give us a clue. If the Pack wins and Brett has a good day, then he is definitely coming back, but if he throws 3 ints, and the Pack loses, he'll retire.

Well, the team will have to beat the Bears to get into the playoffs, and I don't think it will matter much after that. Brett would be asked to return if the coach wants him. A win in the playoffs would only ensure his return. Packer fans everywhere would go nuts. Ask me again after we get into the playoffs.

very well might be true but what if pack make playoffs? And then say they lose like 2nd or 3rd round in playoffs then what does he do?

Inspite of their record, the Bears don't impress me as being all that good. It's been one of those seasons when everthing went their way. Quite honestly, their QB is as bad as ours. TT will continue to upgrade the team, and it appears that the offense needs most of the help. There is no future with Brett, so TT will have to step up at some point and deal with the QB position. When and how that happens is anybody's guess.

If Favre does comeback because we got far into the playoffs, does that mean we actually might possibly have a better record and take the division or will Favre be throwing interceptions all over again?

In most cases I would agree with you, but here we are talking about Brett Favre. No doubt he brings in more revenue than it costs the team to pay him. Whether or not you like Favre, I think everyone has to agree that he's one of the top NFL attractions and revenue generators. So when you take that into consideration, and also realize that the Packers are in cap heaven under TT, there's no economic argument for unloading Favre. In fact, he could carry a clipboard next season and it would still make sense to keep him (assuming we continue to have lots of cap space).
Favre has tarnished his overated image and is no longer an attration. He is rated 24th in the NFL,he hasn't done anything amazing on the field except show up in years.

I dont see any reason why favre shouldent come back if you look at it. Driver more than worthy of a #1 WR jennings is getting better and once his ankle gets better he should be solid and with 30 million in cap room they should be able to pick up a good tight end or a safty to replace manuel. The offensive line is all getting better with toush and clifton leading the two rooks and wells and a year in an nfl training camp should also do them good. And there defense is obviously getting better at d-line the have more sacks then 90% of the other teams they have two shutdown corners and im sure theyll pay harris in the offseason. And with the linebackers you have three young very talented players with good backups with talor and hodge. They need work on there special teams but thats fixable and as far as his proformince strong I would like to see you throw 500+ passes and not throw 17 picks let aloneover 100 and 5 of those picks were either tipped or handed to the defenders. His tuchdowns are lacking but be realistic if you stop the run in the red zone and cover driver you dont have to much to worry about so if they get a good tight end and maybe another quality receiver I see no reason why he cant throw 30tds again.
