This will probably be make or break year for DHB. He did better his second year than his first, however he missed almost half his first year with an ankle injury. However, 9 catches for 124 yards and a TD is what good WRs do in one game not 1 season and I believe he had 11 starts as a rookie. Schilens is great when healthy, but I think this will be the year we find out if the injury bug has disappeared from him. Murphy has the potential and Ford showed that he is what DHB was expected to be. As far as Aso and Huff, I'd re-sign Gallery before either of them because his veteran leadership will be missed greatly from the OL if we allow him to walk and the rest of the OL is very young. Walker, Henderson, and Carlisle are all FAs too but Gallery will be missed more. We may be better off without Aso because we don't have another corner to balance out our secondary and opposing QBs may thow the ball in both corners' direction, but I won't complain if he returns because he is a great ball player and an excellent worker and leader. Huff finally played like a first round pick after 5 years in the league, but I think we can move Branch to FS and start Mitchell at SS. I like Stevie Brown at FS too. DHB if anything should renegotiate his contract.

If Zach Miller and Michael Bush become UFAs then they will become priority and they will be more expensive to keep.

if he's got a contract let him finish it. anything after that is fair game cause if this is his breakout year, than there is plenty of room for negotiating. word is rookie draft pick denarius moore has natural receiving skills and adjusts good to the footballs in the flight better than the current receivers we have already. so, i hope this guy is a fast learner. our (qb) showed promise so i hope to see "the bomb" more often from the RAIDERS. thats a term that hasn't been used in oakland football for a while. right now out of all the rookies i am more anctious about (ot/g)stefen weisniewski, and (rb)taiwan jones. after that (wr)denarius moore and (ot)joseph barksdale. barksdale is said to have a big body.
i don't want to lose gallery or nnamdi but it almost seams as their gone by the look of our draft?

Jacoby Ford showed that he has what it takes to be on the receiving end of "The Bomb" so I hope to see a lot of that this year. Denarius Moore seems to have the same ability as Chaz Schilens and seems to be a lot more durable. DHB has the speed and big body that Al Davis loves in WRs; he just needs better catching and rout running skills. Johnnie Lee Higgins is likely out of the picture and Nick Miller is a question mark. I don't know how many WRs Hue Jackson wants to carry; normally teams carry 5. Tom Cable would start the season with 7 and end the season with 6. Special teams usually plays a part in how many at each position you carry.

Most of this year's draft was preparation just in case we lost key players like Gallery and Nnamdi. However, Jared Veldheer is the only starter on the OL that is returning as a starter. Satelle has been tendered and if he returns will likely be a backup. Henderson, Walker, and Carlisle are all FAs but I think Gallery is more critical than those 3.

It'll be a make-or-break year for Shilens (literally) and DHB. I wish them both well. I'm expecting good things from Murphy and Ford.

I think our starters at WR should be:

1: Louis Murphy
2: DHB(with the caveat that he has to produce and not drop balls all the time)
3:Jacoby Ford
4:Chaz

Me too; I do have high hopes for the one we drafted out of Tennessee too.

DHB has done nothing to deserve a starting job. He's by far the worse reciever on the team. Poor route runner who cant catch.

He didn't even show he had game in college, what makes you think he will develop as a pro.

If the Raiders are able to dump that loser they might be able to sign a legit veteran reciever and a right tackle.

DHB being paid 8 mill while Braylan Edwards and many other far better players getting far less. Its time to cut that mistake.

DHB could end up being the odd man out as long as others can stay healthy. Jacoby Ford did last year what was expected of DHB the year before and a whole lot more (kickoff returns and end arounds)so he's definatly a lock. Louis Murphy has been our most consistand WR the last 2 years. Chaz Schilens has been injury prone the last 2 years but has reliable hands and may be a good emergency WR. Nick Miller split time with Johnnie Lee Higgins on punt returns and JLH has moved on, so Miller may be a lock. Then there's rookie Dennarius Moore who has been stealing the show in camp. Granted RB Cartwright and DB Branch can also return kicks, but if Miller is better than them in that area, then he should be a lock too. I don't see Louis Murphy not making the team so thats a 3rd lock. I hear Dennarius Moore's name followed up with a lot of possitive comments so I'll bet he's a lock. That leaves Schilens and DHB...In 2009 Schilens missed the first half of the season and DHB missed the second half and Schilens severely outplayed DHB in his half. In 2010, DHB showed much improvement, but Schilens had declined; however, Schilens's stats came in the last 2 games where DHB had declined in production. So I see it a tough competition for DHB to make the team unless we part with N Miller and go with somebody else for returns.

i'm crossing my fingers with dhbey this year! if not? consider him a bust! eventually he has something to him that he has proved in practice and we've seen him do some decent plays on the field. whats really kept him out is injuries! probably more often than schilens. the only difference is, shilens injuries are prolonged injuries. dhbey's are off and on. so just when you think he's ready to play?

I think on any other team DHB would've been gone by now, but I don't think any other team would've invested as much in him nor drafted him as high as we did.
I think the starters will be Murphy and Moore because Moore seems to be making the best impression in camp and Murphy has been our most all around reliable WR the last few years. Then Jacoby Ford as the slot receiver because he proved that he actually is a playmaker from several angles and is the KO returner. Schilens has shown reliable hands but has been injury prone, so I think he'll be a good keeper to back up Murphy. As of right now Nick Miller is the punt returner so that gives him the 5th receiver spot. Cable carried 6 WRs but I think that is dumb. I also think it's dumb to carry 53 on a roster but only able to dress 45 on game day because that affects how you set your roster depth.

I just want us to keep the best players and let the bad ones go. I heard they really like D Moore and are looking at David Ausberry as a backup TE
