If the Raiders give up draft picks to get this washed up loser, I will laugh.

"Coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie said in recent months that they aren't sure if the Raiders quarterback of the future is on their roster."

Really? lmao.

"Schaub is fresh off his worst season since he became a starter in 2007. He threw 10 touchdown passes and had 14 passes intercepted last season."

Washed up.

Supposedly they were also looking at sloppy Sanchez. It could get even worse....

Let me get this straight. We will trade a draft pick or picks and pick up his remaining contract. We tried this experiment last year we see what happened. We didn't or so it is reported want to over pay for Jared who is in his prime but we will waste this much on Schaub who's best days are long gone. What happened to the motto of build through the draft and keep your own. We are not playing a game this Sunday. Plenty will still happen with cuts etc between now and even the draft. Chill Reg. Take this money and go get Mack and plug him at center. That would give McGloin or Pryor or whomever a good line to work behind.

PS. Mark please get ready to veto this one too

Schaub is our best option. Don't want Sanchez. He is not a SB QB and there will be a QB controversy if we sign him. Vick is and has been one of the most overrated QB's since coming out of college. Freeman is just not good, period. Schaub is better than those other three and will be a better mentor to our QB of the future that we select in this years draft. We need to make sure we get him and restructure his deal. When our QB of the future is ready, Schaub can serve in a back-up role. Plus, going into the draft with a starting QB on your roster will not force your hand and provide leverage.

Need to sign Penn. Don't want to hang my hat on Watson at LT. Then we can take a breath. Still not grasping the Veldheer situation but what's done is done.

Trading draft picks for a QB just to put that QB trade back on the bench later on where he belongs to begin with? You sound like a Raider GM candidate.

Schaub is a good option, for less than 3 million a year. More than that and No. No because we don't have the talent, especially on the offensive line to keep him upright.

He is due 10 million in 2014, 12.5 million in 2015 and 14.5 million in 2016. if we trade we get the contract too. Too much coin to pony up.

We need a system of continuity before anything...We're back in the Jamarcus Russell situation...No veteran to groom QB of the future under. Schaub is probably our best bet right now

How much of that salary is "guaranteed money" that the Texans have to cough up? Now negotiate a little more out of them in a trade to get them down around 3Mil.....and give them Pryor--who is younger and has potential.....just not on our team.
I don't think Schaub is the future of our franchise but I like him more than Vick or any of the others.....except maybe Fitzpatrick.
I also agree with the comment above that others will become available as the off season moves forward. I have no problem where we are at QB right now with McGloin (and maybe draft a QB at #5). WE are improving the O-line and picked up a decent receiver. I know it's too much money for Reggie but i wish he would take a run at Mack!!
