Jets Agree to Trade Kendall to Redskins

“When this opportunity presented itself, we thought it was a good opportunity and, as always, we're trying to make the best decisions to help the team win.”

The New York Jets reached an agreement in principle to trade disgruntled left guard Pete Kendall to the Washington Redskins.

Jets coach Eric Mangini said the agreement was made late Wednesday night, and the team expected the trade to be finalized sometime Thursday. Mangini would not disclose the particulars of the deal.

The Jets will get a fifth-round pick in 2008 or a fourth-rounder in 2009, according to a source within the NFL speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't yet been completed. Read more
