Why is it necessary for sportswriters and their headline writers to misuse basic English words? Bust:(n) sculpture representing a person's head...; a woman's bosom; the human chest ; (v)to cause to come to an end; to tame (as a horse); to cause to become bankrupt...

ESPN has done the English language a disservice by creating incorrect usage of the word 'bust'. Ain't that grand

Is it me or does anybody else feels that former AD Andy Geiger jumped the gun and over reacted when he suspended Maurice Clarette for the entire 2003 season for receiving gifts from his mother's friend and exagerating on a police report for his stolen rental? I ask that because I look at USC and their major NCAA violations; an agent busting on Reggie Bush for putting his family up in a million dollar condo for two years, Matt Lienert's "gifts" and now Pete Carolle's having NFL specialists attend USC's summer camp, and NOTHING has come of it. Reggie Bush has been in the NFL four years now and I haven't heard anything about their punishment by the NCAA, they weren't threatend about forfeiting either of their championships, loosing recruits nothing.

It is no secret Andy Geiger wasn't happy with Clarett in the days leading up to our 2003 Championship for Maurice calling Geiger a liar but Andy over reacted when he suspended him for his entire sophomore year mainly because he didn't want to forfeit our 2003 trophy. Yeah, Clarett was arrogant smug and cocky but he didn't deserve the punishment he got especially since OSU helped make him that way and now he's jumped off the deep end and hopefully someday he will get his life in order.

But looking at USC, it is hard to believe our championship trophy was ever in jeopardy. Sometimes I wonder what if Geiger had waited to see what if anything would come of the allegations, OSU might have one consecutive championships and Clarette's life might not be such a train wreck.

Please get a clue. Andy Geiger didn't suspend "Maurice Clarett for receiving gifts from his mother's friend and exagerating(sic) on a police report for his stolen rental." Write this down, Tracy, so you don't forget it: Geiger suspended Maurice Clarett for the entire 2003 season because Clarett lied to the NCAA investigators when they asked him about the items you mentioned. The NCAA views lying to investigators much, much more seriously than any of the petty shenanigans that Clarett was actually involved in. In fact, Geiger warned Clarett before he met with the investigators, that no matter what they asked him, just tell them the truth. Clarett, of course, being the idiot he is, disregarded this advice and simply fell back on what he knew from his environment: when push comes to shove, lie to The Man. I, for one, am happy that Geiger suspended Clarett for 2003 because if Andy hadn't done that, the NCAA would have come down on the Ohio State football program extremely hard.

You guys are idiots. Everyone has an opinion on Ohio State football. Maurice Clarrett this, Andy Geiger that. You get so wrapped up in Ohio State football that one could be fooled into thinking you actually play for the team. Since the most activity you get during football season is lifting your gut up off of the couch to go to the kitchen to get yet another beer maybe you should just watch the game and leave everything else to the athletes.

Gholston having a "decent" minicamp is not what he is paid for. The biggest bust in the 2008 draft needs to be better than decent. Time to start earning his huge salary. Football people say he is lost out there, thinking more than playing. You you say overrated? Not in the same class as A.J. Hawk or Laurinaitis.
