So the purpose of the assembly was to acknowledge the academic achievements of AHS students and instead turned into a Matt Hegarty's THE MAN pep rally. The parents that went to see their children acknowledged for there academic accomplishments did not appreciate what happened. Why is that hard to understand? Why does those parents disappointment mean they are Matt haters? Really people? There is life after Aztec football.

It WAS NOT an assembly for just academic achievements, look at my previous post. I was there. Were you? I assume if Key Club put it together then they were aware of what their Fall 2010 Tiger Pride Assembly program consisted of.

I dont thing hegarty is so great. I saw him play a few times last year. He really is no better than the other aztec linemen. Hell he got punked big time by the Belen kids when aztec played them twice.

Scouting Report on Matthew Hegarty
by Barry Every - 06/02/2010
SpeedDivision I PlayerSizeDivision I PlayerStrengthDivision I PlayerAgilityAs Good As It GetsFoot QuicknessBlue ChipOn the Hoof: Does not have the widest shoulders for an offensive lineman, but he does have very long arms. Hegarty’s lower body is very athletic, and he has a good power base. His frame is reminiscent of Colorado offensive lineman Jack Harris.
Needs Improvement: Must add upper body size and strength through his shoulders and chest. He also needs to be more consistent with hand placement during pass protection.
Most Impressive: One of the most natural hip and knee benders in this recruiting class. He has enough athleticism that he could possibly play strong side defensive end at some BCS schools. Hegarty also has very quick feet and understands the importance of winning the leverage battle at the point of attack.
Conclusion: If he can put on an extra 30 pounds of muscle mass over the next couple years he will become an all-conference performer with options of playing football after college. He is a tremendous left offensive tackle prospect because he can move his feet in any direction once engaged

And so there is no confusion. Where it says "NONE" expresses the atheletes interest in the school. Since he is committed to Notre Dame all the rest reflect that. Looks like the ALL OFFERED!

I'ts unfortunate that Aztec students that excelled were not properly recognized at an event meant for them but this topic and article is about Matt Hegarty's achievments which are also well deserved.
