Give them credit. At least Tangini have learned from their mistakes. Football is won and lost in the trenches. The best Jet teams had terrific lines. The offensive and defensive lines on the Superbowl team were underrated, and several of them are members of the AFL Hall of Fame. In the 80s, they had an awesome D-Line led by Joe Klecko, and a very good O-Line. Those teams were consistent playoff contenders.

Last year, the lines stunk and it showed in the results. Hopefully, they will keep this up and fill in the other holes.

Tanny has done his part, getting jenkins/Fanica are BIG bold moves. If we can add Pace and Woody, we Jet fans should be thrilled. You never know how FA signings and injuries etc. go, but management has done a fantastic job so far.
The draft is key, and I think Pace is the key to the jets draft, with him can we think of McFadden if he is there at 6, or does Gholston make the d-outstanding. I think Ellis/Jenkins/D Rob, with a 2nd unit of Pouha BT Bowens, then LBs Gholston Barton Harris and if we can get Pace, sounds dominant once they start to play together. Woody and a WR, and we can start thinking the P word.(I can dream can't I).
Great Job

I've been a Jets fan for twenty five years living in long island and the bottom line is I'm always disappointed. They get to where they are just about ready to get to the next level and oops! they haven't done anything since Joe Namath. come on! JETS are big airplanes, not crop dusters. Get the best offensive line in football, the tallest and fastest wide receiver in the league and a Mcfadden running back and be stealth JETS. With Shaun Ellis and Jenkins and Robertson and Pace and Harris and Revis/Miller speed like JETS, shutem down and geter done. Build a dynesty like the Patriots. Moss and Pennington again? hmmm! Stop the green curse and build a team that will dominate the NY news media. Stop being like the knicks (I was a knick fan also but I'm done with them) and build a legacy before Jets fans grow old. Leon Hess deserves it. He never saw it!!!!!!!!!! Jets finally made a couple of strong moves and it's about time. Finish it up this year while you have the high draft pick. The time is now. A mediocre team is limited to mediocre draft picks and that's what Jets have been getting for years and mediocre draft picks makes a mediocre team. Now you've got a high draftpick, get a star that will take advantage of the free agent moves. I'm about ready to convert to another team. Everyone wants to win. People don't like losing. If you want to win later you have to win right now. You either pay now and play later or you play now and pay later. I'm tired of paying. I want to play.

How does it feel to have christmas in March. I wouldn't know, I'm a Steeler fan. We only supply the REST of the league with talent. I think this is taking 'its better to give than to receive' a little to far. I'm jealous as he**!! Enjoy your wealth, but PLEASE give the Pats at least a run for this.

Nice to see the Jets actually adding a lineman in the offseason. Usually, they just let them all leave. Pete Kendall, Randy Thomas, Kareem McKenzie, and so on. And getting a 350 pound defensive tackle is also a good idea. Dwayne Robertson has been a bust.

I agree with your comments. But the only way to stop the curse is to have your own stadium. Now, that will not happen, so be prepared for a lifetime of mediocraty. Glad I'm a Steelers fan.

the steelers also have lower standards. 3 coaches in 30 years
one coach won 4 SB, the other one 1. Most cities a coach is not around long enough to 10 years between SB 96, 06). so yea be glad you're a steeler fan where winning once in awhile is okay. Ewards got the jets in the playofs 2 years and when he didn't the 3rd he was toast.

Neither Kendall, Mckenzie or Thomas has made an All-pro team and they all left for more money than you want to pay for non-all NFL lineman.
, Faneca has made 6 all-nfl and all-pro teams

This all looks good on paper but how is this gonna work on the field?
I think we Jet fans have seen this before. Gotta have faith though, right?

As a Giant fan who gets frustrated when the Giants go all conservative, the Jets active approach is intriguing, but it seems a little like panic time. We've seen the dangers of all these big contracts. They are getting rid of some big names. Why will the new ones do better? We'll see.

The Jets are going about this all wrong. Faneca may be good for a year or two but it seems they are paying him for what he did not what he can still do. In fact, Pittsburgh was disappointed with his pass blocking last year. Jenkins weighed as much as 390 pounds last year. Why throw money at him? Who is the QB of this team? Will lineman matter if you can't score points? The Jets are spending money like a drunken sailor and I am just not sure that they are any better.

Alan was not the problem last year. Both players next to him especially the center were getting beat and Alan was trying to plug to many holes at one time. If the center and LT are good Alan will make them great.

I'll take winning 5 Super Bowl titles as winning once in awhile. See, Jet fans are just happy to make the playoffs because it doesn't happen often. Steeler fans expect nothing less than a Super Bowl title every year becasue we are in the palyoffs just about every year. If not the season was not a success (see the Yankee formula)
