Is anyone else out there wondering what Bill Cowher would look like in Jet Green???

Let's cut out this nonsense about easy and hard schedules. Except for two opponents, Jets play the same teams as everyone else in their division. Except opening day vs. the Patriots, the Jets haven't played anyone formidable:
Week 2 Ravens, who have struggled this season and are not elite.
Week 3 Dolphins, who are even worse than the Jets.
Week 4 Bills, who have only 2 wins so far.
Week 5 Giants, who tried hard to give the Jets the game in the 1st half.
Week 6 Eagles, who have trouble getting out of their own way.
Week 7 Bengals, who had been horrid until the second half yesterday.

Sorry, this schedule has been as close to puddycats as the Jets will have. A decent team would be 5-2, or at least an underachieving 4-3 against those opponents. Instead, the Jets still have to face Pats, Steelers, Cowboys, Wash., Browns, Tennessee. Not even Miami I would take for granted (remember the Aints in '80). This season has 2-14 written all over it.

I gree with both posts. Well said. The problem isn't just wins and losses, it's thge overall way they are playing. Last year, even when they lost, the played better. More disciplined, more prepared and very few dumb mistakes. They were fun to watch.

One thing I wondered about last year when Mangini was being crowned a genius and appearing on the Sopranos. Weren't the 2006 Jets essentially the 2004 Jets under Herm Edwards: 10-6, made playoffs, a win and an overtime loss on the road? Both teams had Chad Pennington playing most of the year. Would Edwards had gone 10-6 in 2006 if he had stayed Jets coach and Pennington was healthy? No need to proclain Mangini an idiot and fire him, these things need time to play out. But a reminder that patience is a virtue.

Bob Sutton and the Jets defensive line need to be fired. Watching guys rip off 7 yard runs without being touched is getting really annoying. Hopefully, the Jets can draft that DT out of LSU -- we should have a top3 pick this year (behind Miami and St. Louis). Miami will take a QB and hopefully St. Loius will take the OL Long out of Michigan. SUre glad we traded up to get Dewayne Robertson -- guy is officially a bust -- think it may be time to go back to a 4-3 D.

Not a sophmore slump - it's called inheriting a team with a crappy record and playing out a weak schedule the year before, since they went to the playoffs, now they have to play contenders - Guess the jets aren't ready for prime time yet

Hey, maybe he should have been concentrating on his play book instead of snitching on his former boss. Now his team is 1-6 and he unleashed a vengeful and unstoppable Patriots team on the rest of the NFL.

Nice going, Boy-genius!

PS. Can't wait until you get to play your old boss at HIS house

its time for a change in quarterback, also the coach should
switch to a 4-3 defence. his players are not stong enough

Spoken like an individual who understands the game! It is not soley about QB play but the coaching specifically the Head Coach! We have a defense which was made to be the best 4-3 defense possible instead they are being forced to play a 3-4 and the leading tackler is in the secondary!

"Adversity doesn't build character," he (Mangini) said angrily"......
Think back to his season's initial "adversity" vs. Patriots when Mangini's character showed through with his cries of "cheat..cheat".

Contemplate the subsequent series of games and the past weekend, culminating with the Pats record-break string of victories and scoring and the Jets continuing football farces.

Adversity, truly, showed character.

Chad isn't the problem. Face it..the Jets have a tougher schedule this year as they made the playoffs last year. Go 1-15 this year and they will get the easy schedule next year and probably be in the playoffs. It's been their pattern all along. They are never as good as we think in the good years or as bad as in the bad years.

Pennington was great. He made only 1 mistake. Clemens is good but Pennington is the quarterback.
