Who said our draft picks do not leave? Watch this one for the litmus test. TT will not pay the asking price. Yes, he will stay in the short term, but with all the frigging money flying around, who can blame him (Barnett)?

I see the train wreck acoming....

White may have been in the past, Andrew, but Don't compare tody's players with thise in the (Beloved) sixties. No comparision at all. In fact, Reggie was an anthema.

Rick, Stay cool! Public negotiations are part of the process. Barnett is worth top second tier contracts money. The deal will be done in the next two weeks! The packers need a solid deal and this deal is big to the packers and the fans.

P.S. Look for extra bonus m0ney for pro bowl etc.

Yeah, they'll straighten this out soon. Barnett's proved to be a class act so far and like you said, this is all part process. No train wreck here...

TT has away of rewarding players who play well and are loyal to the franchise. Look at Al Harris, Kampman, and Jenkins. I beleive Barnett will get his money if TT feels he isnt replaceable. It may not be worth it for the packers though with the emergence of Hodge as a talent. After another year he may be ready to start and then what do you do with Barnett. There is no doubt in my mind that if Barnett leaves and goes to some other team he will get tons of money and go to a couple of pro bowls but I also think we have something special in Hodge. It may not be worth the cash to keep Barnett after this season.

Hodge lacks speed. The packers defense needs fast linebackers! Barnett can tackle and cover with the best! This will be a crital and exciting signing to the Packers return to a top tier team

I wouldn't count Hodge out yet. I think he could emerge as a starter in the next few years. As for Barnett, I've liked him since he was drafted and thrown to the wolves. He has always performed well for us. I'm not so sure about Barnett going to pro bowls - especially with Hawk on the team.

IW,
I agree.. Barnett is worth only 2nd tier pay.I agree that he gives us effort and is not a poison player in the locker room. But he was completely out done this year with the emergence of AJ Hawk who
led the team in tackles.this has not helped his cause. he needs to realize he will get a deal with maybe 5-7 mil in signing bonus and lot's of incentives.

He isn't worth an extension or a raise. He hasn't been very impressive in my opinion since coming to Green Bay. He has missed a lot of tackels this year too.

I hate the "I want more money/contract extension or I am going to hold out or test FA".. I know it is part of the game (I hate it, it is ruining the league, thank you NFLPA, onwers and Gene Upshaw!), but that is the reailty. The person who said Favre was selfish has his tail up a rainpipe. He is like the old timers who thought loyality meant something..

BTW, Wasn't Barnett the one who had a nightclub that was under suspicion?

I can't beieve sometimes what I say. In one omoment I say Moss is a cancer...then I watch the Patriots and the 49ers become well, at least at it relates to the 49ers, competitive (I think the Pats are the team to beat now), but dang, now in the second breath, I want Moss catching passes by Brett.

Must be football fever...

I would like to hear more about a swap with Chicago for Briggs. Briggs wants to be a leader and play the role of Urlacher on a team. I like what he brings the table and he would surely like to beat up on the Bears. Could build a good core around him. I like Bennett, but this may be a good solution- more bang for the buck.

Get real. Teams within the same division don't trade with each other.

Abdul would be a great replacement for Barnett. Can't count the guy out because of a snowy Seattle game...even though he did score a touchdown. Barnett sounds too much like Crybaby Walker to me right now...maybe it's time to cut him loose and let someone else overpay for him.

Barnett himself has said nothing, give him a break.
