Yeah. Instead of talking, the Packers need to focus on making sure they always eat the same thing before each game, follow the same pregame rituals and wear the same pair of socks the entire season. They will jinx themselves if they don't! LOL

What a stupid article. Being confident doesn't bite anyone. Failing to be as good as you think does! To say that the Super Bowl is an expecation but shouldn't be talked about because it will bite them is amazingly stupid. Oh no, the football gods will punish them for their arrogance! This is laughable.

I could have understood if the author was upset because a lack of humility makes the team look bad, or because it is classier to let your play speak for itself. But claiming it is wrong because of a silly fear of the consequences is ridiculous.

I commend the players for having high expectations. It's been lacking in Green Bay for far too long. It may be a good idea to remain less open and vocal about it, but not because of a wimpy newspaper writer's belief in bad karma.

I think the entire team needs to play with the belief that its Superbowl or nothing. I look at the Jets success last year. Everyone wrote them off, and they believed they were Superbowl contenders, Rex put the belief in their heads and McCarthy needs to show the same confidence in his team. McCarthy has to preach Superbowl in order for his team to believe, I think that confidence has been lacking the past couple years, but now he is finally starting to talk Superbowl, which I haven't heard come out of his mouth for a long time

I can say I've never seen confidence hurt a team. Even if they didn't end up winning a championship, it is ridiculous to say that confidence was a factor in the failure. And nobody can EVER prove that confidence EVER has been even a slight factor in failure. The people that believe that confidence can bite you, probably believe in myths and superstitions and other crap that have no place in sports. Confidence, dedication, practice and skill are the things that win championships.

Those last four points you made is what I hear out of training camp this year from the players to the coaches. They all preach about the confidence they have, many players have dedicated extra time in the weight room, off season programs and the play book, they have been practicing simple drills like tackling, and working extra hard on special teams, and they have the talent. I like the focus of this team right now, but its August, I am a realist.

I am a realist also. Realistically, a team cannot win with confidence alone. However, they can't win a championship without it.

The nearly illiterate angel has spoken. His equally ignorant minions will heed his call.

I can only hope that is all, but the ignorant seem to have a compulsion to display their ignorance ... over and over and over again.

Seriously dude, there are the occasional typos and spelling errors, and then there is clear stupidity. You might want to hide your stupidity by learning to use spell check or by avoiding the use of words with which you are obviously unfamiliar.
