I really don't care to read anymore articles unless it's about us actually acquiring a real QB or Childress getting fired.

Thats a no brainer, sign Winfield. Just like the William Wall is important to the D-line, Winfield is equally important to the Secondary and probably makes the biggest plays out of the whole defense with maybe EJ Henderson following closely behind. YES sign him so he can retire a Viking.

Not against keeping him, but he is not a good cover guy and everyone with eyes knows it. Strengths are hitting and tackling - important to be sure, but keeping big, fast, strong receivers out of the end zone and from getting big gains is also important - here he is not so good.

Has anyone noticed - this team is without a real quarterback (and a real head coach - AND, without owners who are capable of making football judgements without the head coach's guiding hand and consent)?

Let's not distract too much from this - nothing is more important to this team's (lack of) success.

Passing on Cutler points out just how sick and useless this coach is. How he is given a vote of confidence to continue is beyond comprehension (another wasted season coming up!). Huge ego; no logic, no brains, no desire to do what's best for the team and what's more, no resume indicating success anywhere.

Mr. Childress,
I have an idea.
I think you should take half of your salary and half of the other coaches salaries (the exception being Leslie Frazier) and put that towards a deal for Torry Holt and Jay Cutler.Tell Zygi that you are going to gamble your own money this year and bring in some players tha will have an impact short term as well as long term. The payback for you would be double your coaching staffs monetary input towards these signings if you make it to the NFC championship game. You ask us the little people to pay outrageous fees for tix parking and concessions while we wait for you to learn how to coach. Is it to much to ask for you to take a gamble?

kfan: I thought you were done with this organization?

oldviking: Ced might not be as good as Winfield, but the guy is getting better. I've been waiting for someone to knock him but check out two games from last year. Texans and Cards. Ced covered two of the best in the league in A.Johnson and then he covered either one of the two in Fitz and Boldin. Johnson was held to 60 couple yds and the Cards did next to nothing. When allowed to play physical, the guy can do some damage. I'm not saying he shut down arguably the two best WR in the game, but who does. He contained them and thats why the coaches like him.

With our run D as good as it is, a lot of teams play 3 wide against us. That is Winfield's calling card right there. If he starts to slow a little and we're good at safety, he's the perfect nickel guy if we can get another CB. He's physical and close to the line if the opponents want to run. He likes to play nickel, too.

Dont forget about the Sage factor. He will fool the fans in the pre season playiong against teams rookies and bench players. Then when it counts, helicopter time.

Stupid + "Some elements" = low ticket sales.
Why can't a business man like Wilf see that?
This team, even with "some elements", was STILL good enough to take division. THAT'S what's being squandered. Kee-riced! One good QB away, everyone knows it, and "some elements" fumble again. I think that they went to the Troy Williamson School of Grasping Opportunities...
I agree with your simple and concise explanation of the situation. Sadly, there is way to much math involved to be understood by the people who need to hear it most.

He had success one year when he had TO after that they stunk all over again yeah what a genius! And oh good more PA passes! so we can watch tjack run in circles and throw a 3 yd pass to Kliensasser. we scare no one with the pass sign a WR please!!!

what's not that easy? Signing a WR we have the cap room, and holt is a 1-2 year deal tops, granted no one wants to come here with captain clueless leading the ship, if thats what you mean, i agree.

Helicpoters, Bi-Planes, this QB status is a joke. Viqueens will not see the Super Bowl in 2009.

I'm glad that the Vikes are working on Windfeild, but they need to start looking on a contract extension with AD. Should the Vikes lose him it would set back the program about 8 years.

I agree Culter is proving he is not worth the hassle. His in a very brutal business. Give Sage a shot. If the Vikes Dump this year it is time to get a head coach. Vikes got lucky last year. Both the Bears and Packer faltered in the 2nd half of the season but don't look for more of the same.
IndyFan wrote:
Extending Winfield is a smart idea and guarantees continuity in the secondary for a couple more years. It enables the Vikes to concentrate this years draft upper rounds on another speed receiver like Heyward-Bey or Harvin in round 1 and a quality O Lineman in round 2. Harvin would be a great fit especially with Chester leaving next year.
By the way Cry Babies & Whiners, Cutler is showing he is no bargain. I like our chances with our guys.
You'd all be stabbing Cutler in the back after his first bad game anyway.

Hello my fans. I'm reading the play book and have some new circus aerial stunts I have been practicing. All of which result in me fumbling the ball as usual.
