Well, isn't that just nice for good ole' Ray. Granted, he fell way short of setting the sack record like predicted.... in face, he wan't even in the same league as J. Allen and K. Williams.... and it's a well known fact that NO OTHE TEAMS are even remotely concerned about him ( which will lead to contiual double teams on Allen next year with no results from Ray, just like last year)... but hey, that's just GREAT NEWS that he's getting paid more. That means we don't have to spend the money on free agents like Tory Holt, Marvin Harrison, or the ones that already got away.

Is that the going rate for the NFL sack record holder? I think the coaching staff needs to take a good look at starting Robison, less snaps more production.

Opposing teams ought to be paying Ryan Cook for all the help he gives them...

Ray Edwards is only 24 and he has improved every year. He could still end up being a double digit sack DE.

Where is the outrage at this bonus pay? I hope our great leader goes after these high priced bandits next with the 90% tax bracket.

Relax a little bit. This is just the NFL's way of trying to make it a little more equitable for the players who are playing a lot and are stuck with an unequal pay scale. They are usually lower round picks that are playing off of their rookie contract that was a slotted payment.
I don't think that any of the bailout money went to the NFL. If you have an issue with the high prices that the NFL charges to go to the games (and there you might have a good argument) don't go to the games. But until the NFL sees a decline in attendance, this is not going to happen.

So the guy gates paid an additional $200,000 on top of his salary just for doing his job? And not very well? Must be nice!

Try reading the article before you comment. It is the NFL that is paying these bonuses, not the Vikings.

Exactly. He has shown some genuine brilliance at pass-rushing. He needs to be more consistent, but that may yet come.

ray did a decent job, but i would like to see he and brian robison swapping snaps, especially in passing situations. robison seemed like his pass rush was much better...of course he needs to be healthy

Just for the record, he is not a good football player - the weak link on the D line. Poor pass rusher.

Edwards my not have earned the "sack record" last season but it doesn't mean he did not play well. When healthy, Ray got a good amount of QB hurries and hits. Ray also plays good run support.
Some of you guys need to get your heads out of your **** e$ and actually watch a game. This isn't a fantasy league. It takes 11 to play and not everybody is a FRANCHISE player. Get over it.
Yo, it seems like some of us are on here repeating ourselves over and over, trying to get others to understand the reality of football. And it goes with any other sport as well. Some seem to believe that every player on their respected team should be an all-pro, future hall of famer. We've all seen how many rings the Yankees have won the last 7/8 yrs or so. You have to have role players and they need to know their role. If everyone was a star, there would be to many egos, not enough money, and a bunch turmoil in locker rooms.

Could you please inform of any other teams that had 3 starters on the d-line in the pro bowl. He did not play all that poorly. Still has some stuff to learn. I know lots of other teams whose ends performed much worse.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Taurus

As Mars turns retro, emotional tension makes you feel as though you're walking on eggshells. The temperature has risen by several notches, making the situation at home more fraught. Better to clear the air quickly and cleanly than to sulk and brood in ways that simply prolong the agony.
