Regardless of losing, 23-20, last night to the Pittsburgh Steelers , they came into hostile territory with a rookie quarterback and a lot of inexperienced offensive players and took the defending AFC North ...

About two years ago we beat the Bungles and TJ Housyourmamma was whining about how ,"Even though we lost, I just know we are a better team " or some such horse manure.
You sound just like TJ.
Well, this isn't figure skating or gymnastics. There is no credit for style points or "looking good" or "improving on last year". We could look this "good" every time out and still lose very game from here on out.
What there is a division loss in a year when division games are particularly important since there no real dominant team in the AFC this year. You shouldn't be so arrogant about our chances. We are a good team but good teams are a dime a dozen this year.
The object is to score more points than the other guy, remember that. Nothing else matters.
Football is not so cut and dry as you'd like to make it sound. The best team doesn't always win. Did you see the Super Bowl last year? All i'm saying is that it's hard to argue that we didn't outplay Pittsburgh. And based on what i'm hearing, from ESPN, the articles i read, and collegues... I'm right. You could kick a team's ass all day long, but still give up two huge plays that lost the game...but that doesn't mean they played better than you just because they won. You're logic is flawed, the team that plays the best doesn't always win. And the reason i'm so confident that we're taking the division is because they're on the down-turn, and they're really beat up. They get progressively worse every week. We are the exact opposite. People also fail to take into account the variables that were working against us. Monday night in Pittsburgh, first away game for a rookie QB. Anywhere else and we win convincingly. Sorry pal, but you're wrong. And I NEVER make predictions, but i feel very comfortable about saying we're gonna win the division. I've looked ahead, and the seasons shapes up in our favor. Don't forget, they still have to come here and play, assuming that we win that game, which based on last night's performance, we should, then those games cancel out each other. Do your research, i've did mine, and i think the odds are very much in our favor.

Who the hell said anything about Mason, or catching passes???? Cheesus kid, just respond to posters with comments that have nothing to do with their post. Why not just say, "uhhh i like jelly sandwitches". It's just as relevant as your comment.

I said if you score more points than the other guy you win. You could spend the whole game be "outplayed" but if you just somehow manage more points then you win. It ain't pretty but it works.

Pittsburgh won because Roethlisberger made one pass and our defense. couldn't stop him. Our best lost to their best. The good winning teams know how to do this, the Ravens haven't for a while now and need to learn how to get back there.

Good question Lenscrafters. I'm still trying to figure that out myself. My comment was referred to BOB. I hope the team makes the necessary adjustments for the upcoming game, but although we made some mistakes, I think we also made some efforts and improvements on the offensive side of the ball. We are on the right track, with some adjustments, we should be fine. We did better than the ENTIRE COUNTRY thought we would do, and for that, I am PROUD of my team. Don't give up on the RAVENS, because TRUE fans won't do that. I will be at the game on Sunday cheering them on.

This I can agree with. But before you were simply ignoring the difference between winning and outplaying the opponent. The team that plays better doesn't always win. This happens more often than one would think. I could go on forever about Mason's first catch being a TD but they never reviewed it, and Ward pulled down McAllister's face mask causing him to fall on that big play taking them inside the 10. These are all valid points, but the game's over now, no use in wishing it away. But yes, i'll give credit where it is due, The Steelers made the plays when they had to, to win the game, and it was deserved.

I just wish they had run the ball more , especially on the Flacco sack fumble play . Especially with the lead .Especially in the second half .

I would not say these Ravens are for real. Not just yet. Flacco did better than I thought he would, on a Monday night in Pittsburgh, but let's be real. That's a beat up Pittsburgh team! 2/3 of their starting defensive line didn't play. Their running backs were dropping like flies, and the vaunted Ravens defense let their 4th string RB move right down the field in OT. Oh and by that time the Steelers were even missing one of their starting O-line guys!
I think that without a buy week later in the year, the old men on defense are gonna start getting beat up, and slowing down.
The future is bright, but the Ravens won't be more than a .500 team this year.
sounds like the ravens from last year...and they still beat pitt

You could see our D was old in OT?!?! We stopped you on first and second down, then you got a big play on a crossing route.. What are you talking about Bob??? And Reed has some serious nerve damage, which is potentially career threatening. Not only was he not tackling, but on one play i saw him purposely go away from Mendenhall who was coming right at him. Yes i did exaggerate, but those are KEY players you guys are losing, at key positions. You're only half a game ahead, with a harder schedule than us... and don't forget, you still have to come to our place to play... You have to realize that we outplayed you, and anywhere else but Monday night in Pittsburgh, we would've won convincingly. We shall see how it plays out, but there was even an article in the Baltimore Sun saying that the Steelers are set up for failure. Relax there champ, you guys got the game, you made the plays that won the game, but it's hard to argue that we didn't outplay you, and i'm even tempted to say that the better team lost, but i wouldn't wanna send you over the top, Bob.
Did we watch the same game? The steelers got the ball and quickly marched downfield and kicked the game winner. End of story. The ravens D ran out of gas at a crucial time. If reed can't tackle why is suiting up? He whiffed on Holmes for the TD catch and run. Drag that old fool off the field before he loses another game for his team. lol.

Better luck next time. The mighty Steelers are ruling the AFC North once again. same as it ever was. LOL!

Reed is not old?? Not sure where you got that from. And i heard you say Ray looked old as well, did you see how great he played? I'm used to seeing Ray just pile on at the end, but he initiated tackle after tackle. He played awesome. As far as Reed being hurt, he's our field general, at least for the DBs. He's like another Ray Lewis out there, we don't need him to make tackles, we just need his presence on the field.
