Why Blame Harrington. Harrington was placed into a situation for which he did not ask. He came to the Falcons as a backup quarterback for Vick. After Vick was no longer quarterback, Harrington was assigned the role of quarterback, a position which he did not expect. Let's face it, the position is too much for Farrington. It is a position which requires an to individual to act without fear or hesitation. Harrington hesitates. His hesitation is due to his desie not to make a mistake. He has no confidence within himself. Give him a break. Afterall he was thrust into a position in which he did not ask.

Vick was quarterback. When concerning Vick and dogfighting arose, the situation arose, the Falcons did not respond, "Vick, we do not approve of what you did. We disagree with what you did. We cannot condone your actions. Although we cannot and will not condone your actions we will support you in your efforts to rebuild your life. We will be there to support you. That is what makes a great team. Intergity is something the Falcons lack. Falcons often say there is a dark cloud hanging upon our shoulder. Maybe the cloud is a string of dust remaining from prior actions which the team now regrets. A tendency not to allow team members to grow before being cut or traded to other teams where they are seen to resurface and become greats on other teams. What lost!. Review team history..

Falcons, to become a renown team you must first demonstrate that the team has integrity. The team must demonstrate its strength in the face of crisis. It begins to unravel which it seeks to point a finger rather than pull together and support each other. Now is a time for the Falcons to demonstrate its a strong team both off the field and outside the field. Openly defaming Vick, etc. will not build up the team rather it will tear it down. Falcon administrators should review the history of other teams when they have been placed in similar situations. They might be surprised at what they discover.

Let's leave Harrington alone. He is doing the best that he can. Thank him for that. Be there to support him rather than tear him down. Support Vick during this period of crisis. Support him as a team member because to date he has not been cut. After cutting him support him as a former team member. Make it clear that the team does not condone his actions, but will not judge him. The criminal courts has done that. Believe it or not this is what earns a team respect alhough it may experience a losing season.

The Falcons have the ability to become a strong team team. This ability must be shown both on the field and off of the field. The team must demonstrate that it will not unravel should things do not go as expected. It is strong in the face of adversity. It is a team that has character. You might say what is character to a football team. Look at other teams yoou might be in for anotehr surprise.

If you must bring in a support for Harrington, bring him in. Continue to support him while acknowledging that he needs a little support. This should not be played up as though something is lacking in him. Harrington is not Vick. He should not be compared to Vick. Vick was a star both on the court and off the court and will continue to be a star. During this crisis in his life he will remain a star. Look at the attention that is being devoted to him although he is no longer on the field. Don't protray Vick as someone the team should be ashamed of. Afterall what Vick did was done to Vick and not to the team.
