The guys you mentioned are all good, but I'm going to risk maybe being thought to be 'sacreligious' here: I don't want Ray Lewis on this team at this pt in the team's evolution and this late in his career for the price it would require. We need to continue to build with good young players, not high-priced, vets on the downside. I know he can still play at a pretty high level, but he is on the downside. Also, while I appreciate your loyalty to a school, that's not a good final criterion for pursuing players. Otherwise, I could easily say I want to see them go after more Penn State guys, but that's silly. We need the best football players we can possibly get. Period. Who cares what school they went to in college? Jerry Rice went to San Jose State, for cryin' out loud. He turned out all right.

I'm not so concerned about losing Crowder, b/c the reality is, we eventually need to have a better MLB than him if we're going to compete for championships on a regular basis. To me, Carey is the only one of the five that would be real hard to replace with comparable talent. Bell would be next, but none of the others are a must re-sign, IMO. Their talent just isn't drop-dead good. The only difficulty is the Fins have so many other needs (e.g. WR, OL, LB) they may be forced to try to keep some that in more optimal circumstances they could possibly afford to let go.

Kim Bokamper went to San Jose State.
