Great football player but I think Fickell made a poor choice. Vrabel has no coaching experience. Our new head coach would have been better served hiring a Division 3 Head Coach. He needed someone with solid coaching & recruiting experience.

I know the season hasn't started but Fickell is not the answer at OSU. The Head Coach needs to excite the alumni and the Buckeye Nation, Recruit and Win Football Games.
Fick already fails on being able to recruit and excite our Fan base. Cooper could recruit but didn't win or excite the Buckeye Fan Base. Coach Bruce was a nice guy but not much else.

Coach Pelini is already making his mark recruiting Ohio. He just signed the kid from Hoban and will walk away with 4 or 5 more top Ohio players this year. He will be in our back pocket for years to come unless we pluck him away from Nebraska.

The fans should be clamoring to go after Pelini for next season. His biggest obstacle will be our Board of trustees and President. Bo is also Catholic and attended a Catholic HS in OH. He was our team Captain and made Academic All Big Ten and All America. He is one of the top 5 coaches in college football. Unfortunately, his last name ends in a "i".

Agree 100%. Great players are rarely great or even good coaches. People forget that Spielman was a horrible coach with the arena football team he "coached" to a 1 - 15 record in his single season. But the answer is not Pelini it's Urban Meyer.

Urban Meyer would dominant recruiting in Ohio AND Florida, is great with the media and would exite Buckeye Nation and is the only guy out there who is on the same level with Tressel. Luke (though a great guy is not ready yet) is only going to being the seat warm for Urban and will be back coaching linebackers next year so Vrbal needs to stay in Kansas City and keep going what he does best, be a great player. Mark May is happy now but would be sick at the prospect of Urban Meyer coaching the Buckeyes.

The Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Todd Haley, never played football at any level,(not even pee wee) but is a head coach in the N.F.L. so the NFL gets it. Being a coach and being a player require completely different skill sets and being good at one has nothing to do with being good at the other.

Outstanding ..... HC Luke Fickell and Mike Vrabel both HS graduates of Parochial Schools in the State of Ohio ...Outstanding grades + strong character + Good Families .... Go Buckeye Football !
Does that mean we can expect more NCAA violations? After all, Tressel was also raised Catholic. Come to think of it, so was Jim O'Brien.

Luckily, we still live in a free country where you can drink from the well of bitterness and foam at the mouth at the same time. It sounds like half of these people would rather have Tressel back to lose us some more credibility. I say give Fickell and Vrabel a chance. They couldn't be worse for the university right now than the vest. In one day he went from owing the university $250,000 to receiving $52,000. Some look at that as a net pocket for him of $302,000.

If thats what he wants to do go for it cause just cause you sign that contract doesnt mean that you have to do it. Its his choice so GO AHEAD and do what you want.
