Looks like Ryan is the man, I am not so sure about a 3rd consecutive coordinator, learning to be a head coach on the job. I hope his clock management, adjustments, critical 3-4th down decision making are superior to his predecessors. I hope he brings brother rob with him, and away from mangini
I hope WoodyBaum know what their doing.

Ryan's an excellent fit for the Jets. Besides the 3-4, toughness, etc that's been talked about, remember the success our D had (short lived) the second half of last yr when we milled around the line of scrimage until right before the snap to disguise the coverage and blitz? Our players will thrive with Ryan's attacking schemes. I'm not even worried about Shott or Callahan on the O side; they'll avoid stupid mistakes with Rex as HC. My only concern is Mr AARP, 40 yr old Farve. He's the best half season QB out there, so do we play him at seasons start or down the stretch? Can he sit out practices so he lasts longer? Do we scale down his 15 different plays per game to 5? Can we bring in a relief pitcher or a kid under 40 to give him a breather? Maybe someone with a brain? If not, any new HC is doomed. Reality sucks!

Whoever the Jets new HC is, Woody must not undermine his authority or he'll lose the team from DAY 1! This means that there should be NO EXCEPTIONS w/r/t conditioning wih the team and putting in the pain to get the gain. This includes the 40 year old Farve who wants no part of the overhead to play on Sundays. Woody must back off and give his new HC a chance to succeed. Ryan will make his decisions based on field production not mystic. That's the way it must be to win.

Rex Ryan lost out to Harbaugh last year for his own Raven HC job, he missed the Falcons job as well. His bro Rob in Oakland, got the owners support over Lane Kiffen but didnt get the HC job there either. Daddy is more famous for bounty ball/bowl than wins in the NFL. The fans chanting for the say whats on your mind approach may be in for a surprise in NY's 15 newspaper market, well I guess the media will love this guy, lots of smack to write about.
Why is noone asking about the fact that there are experienced HC options-Chucky/Shanahan, to at least talk to.

Any one who inspires the players, makes in game adjustments, and allows his coordinators to handle their business will be better than Mangini.
