Jet Brett on target as Dolphins stall in opener

Brett Favre threw up a prayer on Sunday. So did every fan who likes a dash of fun with their football.

I am not a Jets fan. I am a Favre fan. Why? Because I was a Florida State fan. That means I was there in Jax when USM came to take a beating on a very, very, very hot Sept. afternoon. It was so hot, the St. Johns dried up that day. And at the end of it all I walked out going who the heck is this Brett Fav-ra guy and where did he learn to play like that. He was a gamer.

As a die-hard Packer Backer, I can't begin to tell you how much it frosts me that Green Bay management could not work out the details to bring him back for another year! Brett Favre SHOULD BE AT LAMBEAU! I feel very sorry for Aaron Rogers because he will be under a huge microscope this season.

As for Packer management; They better hope to God the Pack does well this year, or Marky, Mikey and Teddy will be gone! How the Hell do you take an icon like Favre, especially coming off the season he had last year, and tell him to go away because you've "moved on?!?!?" For us die-hard Packer fans, this simply DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!!!!!!!

Whitley's right -- the NFL is more exciting with Favre in it; so is Lambeau Field. I was there on Monday night. While I was glad to see the Packers come away with a win, the atmosphere was somehow muted compared to the bunch of years past.

Those of us who have enjoyed watching Favre play his magic since his days at Southern Miss will just have to do it with him in another jersey, in another conference on another network.
