It shows what the BOE thinks of harding and the students who go there. They deserve better!

As a Bridgeport Board of Education employee in the high schools, it seems to me that there is an inordinate amount of the board's attention paid to Central High School, probably because the Central Magnet is there and it is the last stronghold of academic talent. However, students who aren't in the Magnet are also important. I don't suggest turning attention from Central; I urge the board to pay equal attention to Bassick and Harding.

I remember a WHOLE bunch of money spent to renovate that dump not long ago? What happened? The football team chew it up chasing after the other team scoring on them? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I played for coach cadalina as a senior for his first season as head coach of Central. He showed us how to be motivated, he showed us what glory felt like and it felt great. We only won two games in '98 and tied another but we had a drive and determination that we never had before and it came from a great motivator and leader. we started our season off with a tie against Milford Law a game we should have won but they called a holding penalty on a touchdown run during the last seconds of the 4th qtr. Then we beat Bassick and that was great for us morally winning 45-18 and then we finished up with a win over Harding for the City Championship 14-6. I cannot begin to tell you how that victory felt, we waited four long years to get that feeling and when we got it it was the greatest feeling in the world.

Please renovate the field . There is to much history for Harding and the city of Bridgeport to let the field go to waste.

In the late fifties Coach Joe Sikorski of New Canaan High School schedule a freshman football against Harding at Hedges Stadium. He was from Brigeport, having graduated from Bridgeport Central H.s., and he wanted us to get a feel what it was like to play in such a beautiful stadium. We all had goosebumps playing on a field surrounded by 10,000 seats-Of course nobody was in them it was only a freshman game. I can still remember the smell of the grass and the mud on our cleats as we walked off the field that day. It was a memory I still get everytime I pass Harding High School.
