I think using Mason out of the slot is pure brilliance. It doesn't take a genius to see that D. Williams is going to be a superb WR and is about ready to take over opposite Mark Clayton.

This will allow the Ravens to use a still-excellent receiver (who, unlike most receivers, is not afraid to go over the middle) in a lot of different ways. Alternating that with a two-TE formation will give the Ravens offense a serious boost. Other teams will not know how - or what - to defend. This is one of those small ideas with big ramifications.

I should add that it might add three years to Mason's career.

Fang I totally agree with you. He played the slot receiver during his years with the Titans. He's got great hands and opponents won't know who to cover.

I agree with this entirely. Last year we could have beat the Colts if Mason was used more. He's the only one I feared in the past when we played Tenn.

Give him the ball and watch it happen.

The question I have is why didn't they use him in the slot more last year? Why didn't they know what arm chair coaches know? I hate waisted opps. Last year was a wasted opp.

Thanks, guys. This is why I love men, albeit not in an Idaho-senator-in-an-airport sort of way.

In three hours, I have been agreed with three times. That's three more agreements than I have had in my twelve years of marriage.

Fang.

Hate to be a downer, but the two of them came from the same guy. I'll throw in a legitimate third here though. It'll be interesting to see what the Ravens can do in a 3 receiver set with a lone back.
