Hayden has potential, I still would have gone with Floyd. They must have seen something I didn't. Not surprised Manuel was the first pick. There was no great qb this year. But Manuel had the best physical attributes. Now some of these qbs could be great. Just aren't yet.

It doesn't matter how great your corners are, if you can't get pressure on the qb my grandmothe r could pass for at least 300 yards agsinst the raiders rush!

Well they could put him in nickel blitz packages, but yeah with the modern don't-breathe-on-him pass interference rules and without consistent pressure on the QB, a defense won't get anywhere these days. It's a passing league--better be able to either pass or mow down the passer. That's why most other teams took DE/OLB and OL. It's a crappy QB class so not much action there.

Man I've watched film on both Millener & Hayden, not even close. Hayden is a way better, physical, instinctive, explosive CB. I've watched film on Rhodes also, not close either & both of them are good, but both played mostly zone coverages. Look at Hayden's highlights. Three man is a monster. Majority man to man coverage & never a step behind the WR. Knows how to read route combinations& always gets his head around to play the ball. The guy is a Thumper. He's a sure tackler that brings the wood when he gets the chance. I was mad when we picked him cuz I hadn't heard of him, but after watching film on him, I'm esthetic! Trust me he'll be starting week 1, &I also think Jenkins will beat out Porter. He doesn't have Porter's ball Hawking skills, tho he's not far behind, but he plays far better man coverage. He tackles better & also reads route combinations better. I think only way Porter can win is if DA just goes with the guy he's most comfortable with. DJ Hayden, great pick!

I loved that they traded down, but I was really hoping for Floyd at #12 too Faith. Hayden's first pick six of Manning might change my mind. Maybe we'll get a stud big ugly at #42. Shore up the trenches!

Thanks for that NJR, good to hear. Gruden was commenting on his outstanding coverage skills/hands, but wondering about his tackling skills, so to hear he is a thumper makes me happy. I will watch some of his tape.

Brandon Williams. Watch the film, he's more fundamentally gap sound. That's what stops the run, being in your gap when you're suppose to be. I had Floyd at #4, only because he has a high ceiling & could be very good, but as of right now, he's no more than a run stopper, just like what everybody calls 2nd tier DTs. I hope RM trades down again in the 2nd. If so RM can fill every hole this year. We can't go wrong because this draft is deep at S & D-line. I don't think Floyd will be a bust like alot of people, but right now he's a project & at least in Williams, you know what you're getting. He plays on the other side of the line & can possibly do what took Floyd a collegiate career to do in 1 season, record 5 sacks!

Didn't see this coming, but......hey, Hayden has potential to be a great CB. I'm looking forward to seeing him in Silver & Black. The only film I could find makes me think that Hayden isn't the greatest at tackling. He's decent but not great. His skills lie in his coverage....and he's great at that. Good enough for me. Good pick, Reggie--??--time will tell. Hayden also seems to have a lot of contact after 5 yards with the receivers--that's not gonna fly in the NFL.

I don't know what film you saw, but from what I saw, he's a Thumper. Analyst have him where rated. the best tackling CB in the draft. Not only that, the contact after 5yds? Everyone calls Reevis the best corner in the league. He continuously has contact after 5yds & so does any shutdown corner in the league, but I also didn't see much of that in this guys highlight film. He just is as advertised!
