Your right Pres, the Ravens are 2 to 3 years away with the hire of Harbaugh. That's ok as long as the Ravens play good hard football. Every win will be a stepping stone to future and long term success. As long as we are going in the right direction that's as exciting as playing winning football. Baltimore football fans will be patient as long as the Ravens play good tough football.

I for once cant bash this article because i agree with it. it would be nice to get any one of those positions ab wr or cb. but what is the knock on bohm if they cant move up to get ryan? before his senior season i thought he was the clear cut number one qb prospect. anyway as far as the line goes i agree except i think it should be chester at right guard and yanda stay at rt. he played pretty well there last season i thought. and also if ogden retires would play lt? for some reason i am drawing blank names but would it be that guy they drafted in the supplemental last year or the guy from the 3rd round a few years ago.

I agree with your assessment and recomendation for the O-line. Yanda was getting beat at the right tackle spot on passing downs and might play better on the inside. Grubbs would probably be more comfortable playing the left guard spot and Brown did a good job playing the center position for the Ravens in the past. If Ogden comes back next year try to use Gaither at right tackle. Terry just doesn't play well there. If Ogden doesn't come back Terry can take his spot.

If Ryan doesn't come back next year the Ravens should consider Greg Williams, the DC for the Redskins, His Defense was awesome in Buffalo when he was HC and he has done a great job with the Redskins D. Might take a fat contract to get him away from Washington but it would be worth it.

This may be the best thing MP has written. Get the coaches in place ASAP, evaluate your team and its needs, strategize on the DRAFT, and make a couple of trades (something we never do). Oh and also tell Heap to quit being such a puss E and start playing or bundle him up with Mike Anderson & Derrick Mason and trade them for a top WR.

The only thing that's suspicious is the fact that this same article appeared last night -- with the same title -- now all those posts -- mostly negative -- are gone.

(I can still access that original article and the original responses because it's in my list of articles to which I've responded. But when I click on the same title from the main page, it redirects to here.)

sembo, I agree with you, Preston post replies to his own artilces in a lame effort to keep his job while deleting all of the negative comments.

He truely is a pathetic racist loser. The sad part is, the ONLY reason he has a job is because he is black.

Perhaps if enough people complain about Preston to the editor, he can get his sorry arse fired.

I think DixieChick and I are the only Ravens fans in Columbia, SC!

Like Preston, I hope Ryan gets a chance to run a team in the near future. I'm not so sure I want that team to be the Falcons because I do not think that team presents a good situation for a rookie HC. It would be nice to see him considered for the Seattle job after Holmgren retires next year.

I am truely amazed that you did not make a serious effort to land the HEAD COACH job with one of the vacant teams. With all of your spoken knowledge of football and the talent requirements for each position, it sounds as if you would have had the position immediately, without question! You would rather critique than take responsibility for you decisions? Your are correct, stay as a REPORTER.

I don't understand this post. Is this insightful and articulate? Or the moronic ramblings of an idiot?

Uh dude, sports columnists aren't paid to write "MAYBE they should move the o-line around" or "PERHAPS it would be wise to draft a stud WR with the 8th pick" or even "I wouldn't recommend the Ravens bring Ryan back as def. coordinator....but I better ASK the people who respond to my stories what they think first".

Preston is paid to offer his opinions. Make people think, or in some cases, not think.

If Ryan was and is a great coach he would have been a head coach by now! He has been passed on by Miami, Baltimore, San Diego, and will proably be by Atlanta. There is something about him, maybe he just doesn't fit the mold. He is way out of shape and if he can't take care of his own house, how can an owner expect him to take care of their house. I am not saying that he can't be a good coach but his image of being way overweight is holding him back. If you don't buy it just look around the league, this is why he tried to loose weight this year.

I like the bundle affect with exclusion of Mason who still shows almost flawless abilities to consistantly get open and catch the ball. Bundle Dan (Never plays) Cody, Mike Anderson who has lacked opportunities here, Musa (can't stay healthy) Smith, BJ (can't complete a season) Sams, and Mike Slow to recover Smith for Ansantee Samuels. Bundle Kyle Rumbling stumbling Fumbling Boller and Steve (slow leak)McNair for future draft pick late round this year or 3rd next year. Bundle Simmari(hole in the donut)Rolle and David (truely the Pits) Pittman for a 2009 draft position and last but not least. The practice squad should be released with extreme prejudice. All others evaluate and restructure the deals where it is clearly a take or leave situation. Ozzie! Ozzie ! There is speculation by the fans and media that they could do your job. You must be assertive and extremely aggressive in this upcoming draft and especially in the free agent market. Can anybody say calculator. Cut the dead weight and eat the money now. Without lofty expectations with regards to the new HC, you can justify the cap situation and the need to binge and purge.
