Sinc;e Fencik ran the defensive backs, nobody other than Mike Brown showed the brains to be on the field general.

Well the heart of the defense is gone. Thanks Mike. Anybody want to guess who can, not will, but can fill that the void?

Mike Brown is without a doubt the smartest football player to grace the Chicago Bears in a long time. Life has not been fair to him on the field. He will be missed. I wish him the best of luck.

Brownie ... sorry, very sorry. But it is time to move on. We will miss you and your presence, no doubt.

But, we all know life is not fair. Hopefully this works out for you, and works out for us.

9 years is a lot to ask of a football player ... your body must feel it too with all those injuries ... yeah it hurts to let you go, when you were the glue it seems ...

but, i do believe the Bears need to make some radical changes to move productively forward. If Lance Briggs, BU, and a few others can't hold down this defense down then with or withut M.B. we're in a world of hurt anyway.

Mike Brown was the Mike Singletary of strong safeties. Head, heart and killer instinct. Off the field he was a man without vices.
A true role model for the kids. Sadly the Bears are in the process of cutting heart and soul out of this team. Way to go, Mickey McCaskey, Ted Phillips, Jerkie Angelo and Lovie Smith. Brownie, hope you go into coaching and come back to kick their a*s*s.

"Angelo told the Tribune the Bears couldn't afford to bring Brown back considering what they wanted to accomplish in other areas, including the development of Danieal Manning."

Replace "Brown" with "Thomas Jones," and "Daniel Manning" with "Cedric Benson."

Keep Brown, cut Angelo! Hell, use Brown for a position coach!

Angelo is an idiot. What else would you expect from a GM that is happy with mediocrity in one of the largest sports markets in the nation. If anyone needs to go it's Angelo. The guy is absolutely clueless.

With all the dead weight the Bears have paid dearly to keep around over the years you would think they could find a way to keep someone whose heart and soul was with this team.

Even if Mike Brown played in only half the games the rest of his career that is still much better than all the full time bust outs paid and selected by Jerry Angelo.

Mike Brown with one leg amputated is worth keeping for his leadership and inspiration to the others on this uninspiring team.

I guess it is a "Bear" move.

Mike Brown, not Urlacher, heas been the heart and soul of the Bears defense since he's been here. But, the Bears are 16-16 the last 2 years with him. He's missed many games over that time because of assorted serious injuries. It's time for him to save his body. But Danieal Manning has not shown any sign of being anywhere near the player Brown has been, so Brown leaving definitely creates a huge void.

So Brown goes to another team and plays injury free for another 5 years as well as make all pro for those years too.
I hope this doesn't happen but it sures seems like a possibility. It's not as if the bears haven't been wrong before.

Since lovie is the defensive coordinator, why not make Brown the head coach. With Brown's heart, we would become winners again (lovie has no heart..he doesn't even breathe..some say he isn't even human).
Then Brown can finally do the right thing....fire lovie and babich.
