The Bears would like to re-sign Rex Grossman to compete for the No. 1 quarterback job at training camp, a cheaper option but not a bad idea with all the other needs.

Rex will always win the competition because he looks great when he's not being pressured! Perfect passes etc. when challenged his own defense, who are not trying to kill him at Bourbonnais.

However, his lack of awareness in the pocket, immobility and short stature will come back to haunt us gametime. Just wait.

I think the Bears are stupid if they re-sign him, what a competition, him or Orton, wow that's a big difference, they both suck. Yes, Grossman has a good arm, but he's short, doesn't have good ball security, will always be inconsistent, doesn't know how to step up in the pocket instead he runs backwards and gets sacked for lots of negative yards. Orton played ok in his starts, but he is not a starter, he's a backup at best, just as Grossman is. If you look at any great team in the NFL, they all have good QB's. What happens if the re-sign him and he starts out next season like this one, turnover prone? Now you're back to square one instead of fixing the problem now. The Bears will continue to be a mediocre team with a "ok" QB and no running game. I don't understand why it's so hard for the Bears to just let their crappy draft pick in Grossman go and move on. I'm not a Bears fan so I think it's funny and as long as they keep him around they will always have a QB controversy in Chicago. And it's a wonder Berrian is questioning what he wants to do. He's a good receiver but will never have the games and stats that he wants as long as he plays under the lame QB's they have. I'll guarantee if they slap the franchise tag on him he will be one unhappy man with very good reason.
