I know some people will never forgive Vick for what happened. He paid the price though. And as long as he stays clean, second chances are what America is about. There are many parts of the world that animals are used for sport with violence. I bet that if harness racing with horses was set up like the movie Ben Hur, the race tracks would sell out every night with betting setting records. That is the human being with bread and circus tastes. On the same page, isn't there breeding with dogs for greyhound race tracks and many of them are destroyed in a barbaric manner if they do not win races for their upkeep? Or has that been cleaned up? Vick will do more to curtail animal cruelty for all species then most who have a concern can ever dream of. Pit Bulls are not the most loving dogs, even though they can be more individually domesticated according to some.

Those black ant burning kids need to go to the federal prison as well. Ants=dogs>blacks.

The Eagles are playing the Giants this Sunday. They only need him in for about 7 minutes to win.

I am astounded that an organization such as the NFL would have this person even associated with them. He is probably one of the most despised people in America, with the moral consciousness of a rock. The torture he himself, along with his fellow dog-fighters, inflicted upon helpless animals is unforgivable.
I would not want my name associated with his, but I guess for the NFL it just brings more attention their way. What do they say about publicity??

I still can't believe the Eagles would give him all that money on his new contract! His history alone should prove he is not worth it. He has never won a big playoff game and he is the most over rated QB in the league. If he is going to get Brady like money then he should perform like brady. With his style the older he gets the more injury prone he will be. The Eagles will regret this contract that's for sure. Don't really matter he will go broke again no matter what.

What would he have done to one of his dogs if it were hurt and couldn't fight? Beat it? Burn it? Hold it underwater until it quit fighting for its life?
99% of Americans would NEVER consider treating an animal the way he did, but some will still cheer for him on Sunday's? Not I...

With the NY Giants (who incidentally won last night) coming here this Sunday hopefully Michael Vick will be able to play. If not our hope rests on the arm of Kafka since Young is also injured. He may turn out to be this season's "A.J. Feeley".
As for the dog-fighting that's OLD history. Give it a rest, already!
What difference does it make? It is not OLD history, it is relevant. This person should not be allowed to play in the NFL.
If someone did these things to a child 5 years ago and wanted to play today, would you call that old history? I certainly hope not.

He does not have the mental capability to be a success, how on earth did he make it to the NFL? Who earned his degree for him in school?

You'd be wrong. If you look at recent polls, you'd see that Casey Anthony is 1st, and people like Nadya Suleman, Spencer Pratt, and even O.J. Simpson rank higher. There's worse people out there who have gotten away with HUMAN murders and served NO TIME or far less than Vick. It's time to get over it and move on.

Who said he has a degree? Hell, most athletes don't graduate from college. Him and his low life brother both went to Virginia Tech. and neither one of them graduated. All they have to do is have enough passing grades to play, nothing says they have to graduate. Plus we all know how easy it is for the team to give them tutors and help them take basic classes with barely good enough grades to play. Hell, they all do it. he is an idiot who can play football! Our system is all F**ked up when we award athletes more than we do doctors and scientists and teachers and such!

Best football minds who? Not all footbal minds and columnists are on the Vick bandwagon. You will see that he is eon hit away from a serious injury and then the Eagles will have to eat all the guaranteed money they gave him. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch than the Eagles!

"Society" doesn't reward Vick. Society gives him a second chance. That's the way America works. If you don't like it, take it up with your congressman. "Society" isn't putting a dime in Vick's pocket. Fans are. However, he is paying HUGE taxes TO the "society".
