I can understand why Vick lied in the beginning. He knew he had a lot to lose. While he's not lying anymore, I believe he is refraining from talking about the real horrors of torturing and killing dogs because he doesn't want to explain himself to an irate public. I believe that by keeping the heat on him he might eventually face up to what he did and might even feel some remorse for treating dogs so cruelly. Just a thought, so we'll see.

"People who have antisocial personality disorder may engage is such risky behavior as violence, vandalism, theft, bullying and cruelty to animals. They are skilled liars and often quite good at conning other people."

"On December 10, Vick appeared in U.S. District Court in Richmond for sentencing. Judge Hudson said he was "convinced that it was not a momentary lack of judgment" on Vick's part, and that Vick was a "full partner" in the dog fighting ring, and he was sentenced to serve 23 months in federal prison. Hudson noted that, despite Vick's claims that he accepted responsibility for his actions, his failure to cooperate fully with federal officials, coupled with a failed drug test and a failed polygraph, showed that Vick had not accepted full responsibility for "promoting, funding and facilitating this cruel and inhumane sporting activity"."

...and I additionally quote:

Drug raids at a house he owned (which lead to fed finding a...).

Dog fighting ring and animal cruelty towards 60 dogs in a house he owned.

Settled a lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend who said he knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease.

Vick surrounded himself with unsavory associates, two with criminal records for drug trafficking.

Two friends of Vick pocketed someone's fancy watch at the Atlanta airport, the watch's owner said a Falcons executive offered him money to keep Vick's name out of a police report.

Lying to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about everything.
