Horrific management by not having Gibril Wilson locked up long before this. He was one of the very few bright spots in the secondary. Reese has been lucky---his luck will run out soon.

What are you gonna do? This is the nature of pro football today. Salary Caps at the same time as free agency, kind of an oxy-moron.
Every team, even Super BowlChamps, have players leave for more money. It is the nature of man, to want to make more money. They will play for a less talented team, if it means more money in their pocket. Fans have to get over the fact that players don't care what city they work in. They care about the bottom line, making as much money as possible in what is a very short career.

More like moronic logic by you. Did the Giants not just win the freaking SUPER BOWL? Did Reese's draft not result in just about every rookie making the team and contributing positively? Did his lone free agent pick up Mitchell not also play a big part this season? Yet according to you, Reese's regime is on the verge of imploding. You sound like you WANT him to fail, did he not sign an autograph for you or something? Get a grip and some perspective!

Jerry Reese did an outstanding job last year by not over spending on sub-par players. He should certainly try to retain Wilson to an extent and without a doubt hold on to Mitchell it wont be the end of the world if we lose torbor he could be easily replaced in the draft. Give Plax and Osi their money they deserve it. If we were even willing to spend that kind of money on Hall we would be better off getting Asante Samuel a much more accomplished corner. However, if we did not go after either of them our future still looks like its in good hands with Webster & Ross. Would love to have L. Briggs he could turn our D into a nightmare! But above all IN REESE WE TRUST!!!!!!!!

Maybe 3 years / 11M can get it done. Can't see many teams going much higher than 4-5M per. Gibril is always around the ball. He'd be a tough loss. Hopefully we'd be able to plug somebody decent there via free agency. Also, for the draft, LB Jerod Mayo would be a good pickup. Hard hitter, good tackler. He may be gone by the Giants 2nd pick though. His Vol teammate, S Jonathan Hefney had a terrible year. Not sure if he was more tentative to keep from getting injured or if he tried to do too much in a young secondary. He may be worth a shot in the 3rd round. Wonder if Darwin Walker has anything left..???

Great job Jerry. Impact players in every round from the 2007 draft. One more thing, noticed that Ward will test the free agent market. Danny Ware was a nice pickup...and you can't go wrong with UGA backs. Might be interesting to see what he can do. Like I said above, Mayo is a beast out of UT.

I would like to have Wilson back also
but it's his right to try to get as
much money out of his short NFL
career as he can..
With that said If Ray Rice is still
around in the 2nd round I would like
the G-men to pick him. He would be
a good insurance policy for the
G-men.

Reese, Coughling, and Spags are no dummies, they would not let Gibril walk unless they had something else in mind, Were talking about a def. coordinator who is known for his grooming under Jim Johnson as a defensive back specialist, no need to question just let unfold, Jerry Reese is in his position for a reason, don't forget former GM Ernie Acorsi (you know the guy who structured that superbowl team) gave his seal of approval when the Gmen were considering Reese as GM

If the Giants have money to spend under the cap, why not spend it? Letting Wilson go is a definite mistake. I thought Derrick Ward was unrestricted as well.
