The biggest mistake we made in the draft was fixating on picking a receiver and not paying attention to who was still on the board. Eugene Monroe is a top 2 OL prospect! While we signed Khalif Barnes to a 1 year contract, what happens after that? How is Jamarcus going to have time to throw the ball with the perennially underperforming line?

The other pick I would have had no problem with was BJ Raji. He has the potential to be another Haloti Ngata. Does anyone remember that we ranked 31st again the run last year? If we can't stop the run, how are we going to win games?

While I like D-Mac, I didn't understand why we picked an RB in the first round last year. This year's pick is even more confounding given 6 consecutive seasons of poor performance.

You think? Even drafting the 3rd best WR was an error if that was the plan to draft one in round one. Thanks Al Davis.

I was quite stunned at some of our picks myself, but I'm trusting that Coach Cable knows what he's doing and With him calling the plays, I've seen better signs of life and by going with the guys that got the job done last year and keeping them together...I mean once the youth was in and the older vets were on the sidelines with injuries we looked like a winning football team.

4-8 under Cable wasnt it? I an too senile to really remember. Cable will use my plays and he will like it. Just like I did with Kiffin and the others.

The haters might like that article...Honestly, I've seen teams with a bad draft grade blossom with players that were said to be bad picks and I've seen teams with good draft grade bust with players that were said to be A+ picks...I really don't think we should give any team a draft grade until the end of the season when we give out Rookie of the year awards and what not...

Tom Cable gave us something at the end of the season that Mike White, Joe Bugle, Bill Callahan (after the superbowl loss), Norv Turner, Art Shell (second tenure) and Lane Kiffin never gave us and that was reason to believe that we can be a winning football team. When we knew we were out of it for good, Cable kept the team together and challenged them to just win the rest of the games for pride and they did that the last two weeks of the season and that was a high note to finish the season on and it really gave the team a foundation to build on and possitive momentum going into the offseason. The team is now able to look back at the end of last season and say "we were a solid football team at the end" rather than "we were just trying to survive". Pass protection was there; WRs were actually catching the football regularly rather than dropping passes; RBs were running all over the place especially Michael Bush in week 17. Defense's numbers were down, but they weren't on the field near as much so that wasn't really a bad thing. What really mattered is that they look back and we were WINNING.
