Forte is not ivtal to the Bears having a successftl season, rather, the o-line is. If I were in charge of Bears personnel, the first thing I'd do is arrange a sign and trade for Forte. The obtained players would have to be offensive linemen.

All the teams that went deep in the playoffs had a 2-tailback package that de-emphasized the 25 touches a game approach. They also had far better o-linemen than the Bears have.

A great o-line will make an average back a great back, and a crappy o-line like the Bears have, will make a great back into an average one.

O-line is important to any team, but forte is a Special talent. Hard to just let go of one of the best backs in football. I like bush as a back up, he can be great with the right o-line...but most rb's could be great with the right o line. I hate we losy bush, but I would rather lose him to the bears than most teams in the nfl.
