In order for Tomlin to get his system firmly implanted in the Steelers offense and defense, he is going to have to coach 365 days a year. From what I have read, his offense is complicated and his defense is worse. I hope that the seasoned veterans of the team can forget what they have learned under Cowher and be able to reprogram their thought process under Tomlin. Tomlin has a built in excuse...."The team played well but they still havn't learned the new system" "I am anxious for next year when they have a year of my system under their belt"...Mark my words....you will see these quotes somewhere in the near future. Give me some feedback...Your friend..Jeff

I think your off base here..... the new offensive playbook involves more formations but has been simplified from the phonebook sized playbook in the past. In fact Roethlisberger was greatly involved in the new playbook development. The defense is the same with the added wrinkle of some 4-3 mixed in. I think Tomlin will be a far better coach x-o wise and a great motivater without the spitting. Cowher's lack of fire last season combined with his below average understanding of x-o's led to our poor season. From what I have seen, heard and read I am ready to strap a helmet on for coach Tomlin and I hope the players are seeing it that way by Sep.

Bruce Arians is the Offensive Co-Ordinator.
He was recievers coach under the last coach.

Dick LaBeau is the Defensive Co-Ordinator.
He was the same under the last coach.

It is Tomlin's team and he is going to coach. To say Tomlin is going to make excuses is wrong. Tomlin will give explainations. The play book will be simplified for excution, not complicated to impose the new coaches ideals. Roethlisberger and Tomlin have expressed respect for each other and admiration for the competitiveness they posses. That comes from effective communication and understanding of expectations.

The Art Rooney picks leaders who have a strong desire to win. Tomlin is a perfect example. It can happen 3 times in a row.

i think tomlin has a good prospective on how he will run this time this year.. big ben is confident with the offense that will be runned in the games and by the looks of it their running game i very well set up.i will say this tho bill cowher has left some big shows for tomlin to fill but hey cowher was one of the better coaches involved in the league of football no matter who u are the steelers should burst through ur town. the steelers have the recievers... ward and the other dude(sorry im tired and cant remember his name) their running game is well built and they have a stud QB but ya i expect alot of this offense and even more of the defense
