While the Detroit Lions are thrilled that Matthew Stafford won't have to undergo surgery on his re-injured right shoulder, they must now begin to determine if he will continue to be the future of their franchise with all of the injury concerns that surround him.

I dont think you could put Peyton Manning in as quarterback for the Lions and expect any more then what any quarter back could give you. We need line strength and quaretback protection to be effective. This has been and issue for along long time. LOOK!! at all the ones we've had. None of them have lasted and we've had some decent Quarter backs. Plus , agood line can open holes for our running back's also. Its not the fault of the backfield, If I can see it I know our coaching staff can see it too. But were not doing that much about it, so how can we expect to get any better.
