Superstar??? Elway, Favre, Montana etc were superstars. How many snaps has Cutler taken in his illustrious career? He's a good Quarterback but let's get real. Glad Denver let him go. Everything went south after Plummer. Come back Jake!!!

bears should fire Lovie because there is no accountability, no passion & no fun since he has taken over. Sometimes you need your blood to boil alittle & have some passion for this great game. He's bland & making the team boring as well. Even Jay Cutler seems more subdued. Where's firey Jay I wan't Cutler to keep his Jayness but with Lovie I'm afraid he lose it. If bears are serious about superbowl then bring in Cohwer,Shanahan or Holmgren please.

Shanahan, please! At the very least as General Manager (goodbye Mr. Angelo). But if Mike Shanahan wants the head coach position here instead, I am all in favor of it!(can we still say "goodbye" to Mr. Angelo, Mr. Turner and Mr. Babich as well?)

In order to salvage the careers of our new quarterback and our premier running back we need someone who clearly understands how to support talent in those positions. And as much as I like Lovie, we just don't have that person in him this year.

I know it will hurt the team financially if you fire Lovie Smith now, but it must be done. He is supposed to be a "Defensive Minded" coach, but the secondary and Defensive Line have never looked worse. I know Urlacher's injury hurt, but if he is the coach you are paying, he should be able to make the needed adjustments. Also, He has failed to find a blocking scheme that works. Cutler has struggled, and one of the main reasons why is that there is no time for him to throw the ball. Also, In weeks past, whenever the Bears have given up a big play,(DeSean Jackson play vs. Eagles or Frank Gore run against 49ers) he seems to show no emotion. He needs to confront the players and correct their mistakes. I think the Bears have the tools needed to be a successful team, but Lovie is a cancer. Don't let money come in the way of the team's success, FIRE LOVIE SMITH! Hire Mike Shanahan (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) or Bill Cowher (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) and make the Bears contenders for next season. Who's with me?

A very unsatisfied Bears fan.

If Notre Dame can get rid of Charlie Weis after 5 years, then the Bears should get rid of Lovie after 6 years as the head man. He is emotionless and appears lost on the sideline. Get Shanahan or Gruden to shake up this lethargic bunch. At least we will see some emotion from the leader.

I agree. I've been a bears fan for over 20 years and have see many bad teams and our share of bad qbs. And when gerry angelo traded for jay culer I was so excited I jumped out of my couch excitment. But the bears are awful I mean we are an embarrasment in this leauge. And someone needs to pay for this and the logical choice is lovie smith and ron turner. If the bears have any pride at all they need to fire them both.

When a team sucks year in and year out, the coach gets fired. When a quaterback leads the league in picks, he gets benched, then released. When a general manager fields a roster that threatens to be one of the worst in the NFL, the GM has to go. Will any of these things happen? No. If Lovie was in danger of being fired, he probably saved his job when the Bears beat the 1-11 Rams. This is Cutler's first season in Chicago, so he gets a pass. All those interceptions he's tossing up will be downplayed as miscommunication due to lack of familiarity with his offense. Angelo will be spared because all those draft picks he gave to Denver were necessary to finally acquire a franchise passer, even though said passer has never had a winning season, couldn't get his former team into the playoffs when only one win out three of was needed, and shows a maddening tendency to fail spectacularly when games are on the line. So what will happen is the Bears will probably release offensive coordinator Ron Turner, bring in a guy THEY claim is a mastermind tutor to Jay, tout the return of a healthy Brian Urlacher, then proceed to suck blowfish once again in 2010.

Shanny can't draft and he is a failure in the free-agent market so he would fit right in with the Bears. E B F You a genius...Like Ernie would say "The Cubs will shine in '69" I can hear Butkus say: "Suck blowfish again in 2010" The Bears could develop a marketing campaign around such a catchy slogan. The could even have Blogo solicit contributions for them to get free-agent spending money

Bears management isn't quick enough and by the time they figure it out, Gruden and Shanahan will be taken and signed up longterm......Lovie is a great guy, but he has to go....imagine what Gruden could do with Cutler.....(sighs)....

Cool it on Cutler, afterall the Bears don't really have much in recievers. Today they lost to GB by seven, but were in the game to the end.....remember these words, Cutler is way, way, better than Grossman....give him some time and tools....Get the coach figured out first.....

Lovie has to go.
The Bears have quality players, its not the QB, RB, WR, etc.
Its the coaching they should have kept Orton.
The team actually was playing for him, but no they wanted a fancy pants star and got a cry baby.
Cutler is from our part of the country so we hope he will work out but he better start leading and stop crying.
In the meantime can Lovie, he will take them nowhere.

I'm insultd by Lovie's post game "blame" game of his players. I'm equally appalled by Jiggetts defense of Lovie - he's a Harvard grad... Come'on!

"Professional players - paid to play" what the H ___ is he taking about. Just looking at him tells me he couldn't get a sandlot group of kids to play inspired football. Stoic - B.S... Give me Ditka throwing clipboards on the ground!! and yelling at the refs!! Come'on Mr. Jiggetts, the passion is an immense part of winning in any sport or competition. It's wat takes the average player to the next level. Or, didn't they teach you that at Harvard???

Bears Fans should fire themselves.
It's all their fault.
It's the Bears fans who begged to get Jay Cutler even after knowing his stats and record.
It's the Bears fans who went out and purchased Cutler jerseys thus approving of a huge contract extension. So stop blaming Lovie and the GM and look at yourselves in the mirror.

But hey it's not your fault. Your the most unsophisticated fans in the league. You don't care what Jays record or stats look like, all you care about is that he can fling that ball down field. You view it as who cares where the ball lands or which jersey he throws it to as long as he can fling it he's your QB.
