With these additions are the Bears a playoff team
Again, my question is do these additions make the Bears MORE likely to be a playoff team or no different than 2009? Yes.

Maybe. Maybe not. Look, in the 2009 season opener at Green Bay, I saw a team capable of winning that game EASILY if not for all those damn picks. The defense almost won the game in spite of Cutler's performance AND losing Urlacher. Sure, Jay recovered and played better in the following three games, but the bottom fell out after the bye when it became obvious that the Red Zone was the Twilight Zone to this team. First, they couldn't score when they got down there. Then, Jay became a pick machine at or anywhere near the goal line when he tried to make something happen. Finally Jay's confidence went south, the defense got gutted for a third straight season, and the Bears were through. The hope is Jay Cutler transforms into a super star in his fifth year. If so, the Bears will be fine. The offense will stay on the field while the defense stays frisky and fresh. If not, the Bears not only won't be a playoff team in 2010, they'll reek for years to come.
