"Will Clemens Finally Get a Shot with Jets?" What's this? Now Roger wants to play football after he wore out his welcome in baseball after getting all of those shots from Brian McNamee all those years with the Yankees? Oops. Wrong Clemens. Sorry Kelen. Best of luck to you as the new season of that great Novela known as "The tears of Brett Favre" gets ready for the screen.

<quoted text>not sure if you actually watched the last game but in the first quarter, Coles was wide open in the endzone, left the defender at the 5, and Favre over threw him by 5 yards... they ended up with a FG... Favre set the tone he was off all day... badly any body else would have been benched in such a critical game
Favre was hurt, he had arm problems, He should have been pulled out, who would they replace him with? happy feet Clemens, I don't think so.

Farve shoould have been benched long before the last game. He was overthrowing and underthrowing receivers and throwing off his back foot and also throwing wild passes across the field never mind all the interceptions. The Jets coaching staff should be able to make an evaluation on which guy Clemens, Ratliff, or any other is able to be the Jets quarterback. During the mini-camp the coaches need to look at arm strength and ability to learn the systems and also mobility and give the guys a fair chance which means they must be patient. Peyton Manning stunk his first year and Eli was not good until late last season
after being in the league for a few years.

I just hope the Jets draft a decent quarteback
because what is on the bench, the jets are not
going anywhere. as for farve quit bringing him, he isn't coming back. he's not any worse that f
pennington the jets had for years, paying pennington all that money, for what a hack of
quarterback, at least with favre I saw a guy
going to Canton in a few years. Favre was hurt the
last of the games, what is penningtons excuse for his crapping playing all the times with the jets, when he wasn't hurt????/

You have no business making the pompous remark that the Jets have no quarterback on the bench right now or that Clemens or Ratliff will not be any good. Matt Cassel was terible in the pre-season and he did not even play in college and never started a game in the NFL yet through the Patriots great coaching he guided them to an 11 win season. If Clemens and Ratliff have basic tools they can be molded into being at least good quarterbacks with the right coaching.
Drafting a quarterback in the first round does not mean anything as there is only a 50/50 chance that the quarterback will be great. It is hard to figure out the QB who will be great in the NFL based on the way they played in college.

in a must win game even Clemens could have done better then Favre's 3 picks. Each one he basically threw it up for grabs off his back feet. The idea was to have the advantage of a great veteran QB in a must needed game.
Once he realized that he couldn't make the throws needed, he should have changed plays or spoken up tioget out the game. INstead the TD's from his turnovers was the scoring margin that directly led to the loss

The Jets were in a bind when they got the prima donna. If he was taken out of the game it would have meant national headlines and a major distraction. Favre should have taken himself out of the game after the 11th or 12th game
and made up some excuse like his arm is bothering him and for the good of the team. Favre's whole career he threw it up for grabs. Too bad his last throw was not an interception as it would have been poetic justice. I remember a few times where interceptions were dropped so his league leading interceptions could easily have been much higher like 10 more when you add up all those dropped interceptions.

The prima donna faded at the end of the season because he was not in shape for a full season. Remember his off season workout was nothing except throwing to some high school kids.

Now he can go fishing and laugh at all the Jets players who are talking about him when he got 13 million dollars to play for them. Almost a million dollars a game. If that is not absurd I don't know what is.

things could be worst..
like having the coach you fired, find a new job before you find a new coach..
with the Franchise tag put on Cassel, the Pats will have 29 mil in salary cap money tied up with him and Brady ...
