Viking nation this continues to be Ponder's bugaboo. Nobody thinks he will last the season.

Sure Ponder's odds & history of staying healthy has been against him. I don't think anyone would say otherwise. It goes back to Ponder's college days. What I am saying about Ponder is he doesnt need to throw deep he has a great average throwing short & that is what the west coast offense is all about right? Last season the vikes took the lead in games & would run down the clock by taking the clock down to the last second before they would hike the ball. Its one reason why Ponder had only 483 attempts. QB's like Peyton Manning ran a faster clock Manning had 583 attempts. & Andrew Luck a very good upcoming QB had 627 attempts only 339 of them was completed. Look at Ponder's stats of the 483 attempts Ponder completed 300 of them. Ponder had as many completed passes as Andrew Luck but in less attemtps. The vikes need to speed up the clock like these other teams & Peterson will still get his snaps & Ponder will get a little more yards per-game. That's the area that need's improving the most I think anyway

He can't implode mid-season like he did in 2012

lol True Ponder did crash mid-season but look at Ponder's completed passes to Luck's & that's with the mid-season crash. There really isn't a need for Ponder to have 627 attempts in this west coast offense but they should give Ponder a few more attempts & speed up the game a little. It could only help the offense if they don't allow the defense to substitute a player on a few snaps.

I honestly think the new wr options will help slightly improve the bad patches he goes on mid season. I think ponder will stay serviceable all season unlike last year. He showed flashes last year and his down games had a lot to do with he lack of weapons he had.
