<quoted text> Ya if only there was a To or a Randy Moss or a plaxico for every Tony Romo, Joe Flacco or Eli Manning then they could all get all the credit and be considered great.....they paid Joe Flacco 40 million $ and annointed him the quarterback of the fututre before he ever played a down in the NFL.....look at his performance sunday and tell me why or how that could possibly be justified.....compare smith's performance during the end of last season and Flaccos this season and show me a 38 millon $ difference.....
Allow me to compare Smith's performance last year to Flacco's this year. Smith's were meaningless games against teams who had already earned playoffs spots and had nothing to gain by winning so they played few starters, and were just trying to stay healthy. In contrast, Flacco has played hungry teams in the beginning of the season when everyone thinks they have a chance, and they're all playing their hardest. Smith is not an NFL caliber QB: he's got no arm, no accuracy, no height, no game. He's elusive, that's it. Look at all the characteristics that make up the great QBs in the league and you'll see that 'elusive' is not one of them. And he's too short to have any pocket presence. I could go on forever and ever, but i'm sure you get the idea.

Flacco should take that blame. Oline did it's job, Flacco had time to throw yet managed to throw 3 of the worst passes I've seen.

Boller, great arm, little accuracy. He had a hard time even throwing a screen pass, if you remember correctly. He could really wing the ball, bhut when you throw 90 mph behind the guy, it doesn't work.
This is true...lol!

you know the answer as well as I know the answer, you where obviously speaking rhetorically. They pay based on projected value. Simple as that. A first year guy is not nearly worth $40 mil, but by the 4th year he may be valued at $80 mil. You roll the dice on a 1st rounder, hoping he is a winner. With a QB it's even more desparaging. No way does a 1st year QB play anywhere near his contract value

I love to go back to old posts later in the year. Where's Anti-Gary now?

Because they will not win "big games" with Flacco at quarterback. You need an experienced quarterback to win in this league. This is not Delaware!

And it was rather prophetic of Mason voicing confidience in his abilities at a low point for Flacco.
