I am so sorry for the families of gentlemen still missing. There is no words of comfort, just know there are people like myself thinking about you, my heart goes out to you all. Take comfort in the fond memories you have of your loved ones.

It would have been nice if the author would have briefly mentioned the dangers of hypothermia. Water strips heat from your body approximately 25 times faster than air and once your body core temperature drops below 95F you are hypothermic.

Irrationality and poor judgement are classic symptoms of hypothermia.

Unfortunately, they might not have been privy to the open water survival training that Navy guys get. It is possible to survive for a few days out there if you are trained properly.
