Honor The Families Of Those Lost At Sea Boaters By Finding Out If You Are A Prudent Boater!

Answer these few short questions to find out if you know enough to be considered a good and skilled boater.
What is five shorts on a ships whistle
Name three Rules of the Road
What is a yellow over white light on the stern of a vessel
What is a RAM
What is the difference between inshore and offshore life jackets
If you can not answer these do not feel bad. The sad truth is that 80 percent of boaters don’t know the answer to these questions and NEED TO. If you can not answer these questions, the truth is you do not know what you need to know to be considered a skilled boater. Now, you can change that. Most boaters are a put the key and go boaters. It is one thing to be a great fisherman it is quite a different thing to be considered a skilled boater.
For those in the Tampa Bay area please join the MMCA for a free seminar on great fishing techniques from Master Captain’s and how to be a skilled boater. You will be in good company for many others are learning that they didn’t know that they didn’t know. For the rest of the boaters that could not answer these questions, we ask that you find a boating class near you, your life and the life of your family could depend on it.

The MMCA is begging recreational boaters to help prevent anymore tragedies by taking the simple step of getting the correct instruction on being a good and skilled boater.

Seminar will be held Sat the 14th at Hubbard’s Marina at nine a.m.

You just cant put a price on three human lives. It's the USCG's job to handle these types of situations. The money is in the budget. How much does it cost to rescue the Cubans and Hatians? Then, after all that is spent, we send them back home. We should let them stay to become taxpayers to defray the cost. As far as Capt Marti's class, I would recommend it, but there is still no guarantee you won't lose your life out there.
