Colts looking to make amends

Full story: The Indianapolis Star

Revenge isn't a big issue in professional football. Reproach, particularly self-reproach, can be another matter.

I'm really worried about these Chargers. They have kicked our butts pretty bad in the past. I think they are still mad about the Ryan Leaf pick. I think we really might lose this game. They have Peyton's number for sure. Maybe this isn't our year.

The one thing our losses to the Pats and Chargers showed was we had no depth, but once our replacements got a little experience, we returned to our former unbeatable selves. The Titans beat our 2nd and 3rd stringers, not our 1st team. Anyway, it should really be a good game Sunday. It will be great to see Peyton and Company strut their stuff.

GO COLTS!

It will be nice to get the Colts back even though they are minus Freeney. I cant wait to watch Marvin, Mathis, Brock, Bethea, pretty much all of the guys hurt. It seems like we havent had a game like this since the season opener. Peyton wont know what to do with all of the options he will have...wait a mintue, yes he will.

If your quarterback can throw 6 picks and you still only lose by a missed FG by your drunking kicker... oh wait, different guy... do we really have anything to worry about?

This game will be a rout!

Bring on the Jags! Yes, you heard me right!

Is this a joke? The Chargers win earlier in the season has nothing to do with the game this week. The Colts had so many injuries, back-ups were playing for back-ups. It was the Colts worst game in years and was a chip shot field goal away from winning. The Chargers should have won that game by 30 points. The Chargers won 2 years ago in the dome after the had everything locked up, big deal.
If you are a Colts fan, have a little confidence.

This game will not be easy. Even without Gates the Chargers have excellent back ups. As long as the Colts stay focused, minimize the mistakes and play to their strengths, they should win. Without looking too far ahead, a Colts-Jaguar game in the Dome is a possibility. go Colts!!!

Let's remember how much the defense stepped up last year once the playoffs started. Larry Johnson ran for a total of 32 yards in the Colts' first playoff game. I think the offense will definitely do it's thing, but I think the defense will be the story again...they play with so much speed and tenacity, especially in the dome.#1 in points allowed this year! Go Colts!

This will be much different than when we played in SD earlier this year. The Colts are healthy, hungry and determined to show that the first SD game was a fluke. We should rout these guys by 20+ points.

And I concur...bring on the Jags!

We all want the win against SD, and for Jacksonville to beat the Pats so we get the Jags in the Dome. I do, too, but the Pats will be up for the Jags --- trust me. Hopefully, Brady will have a bad game(wait, does he ever have a bad game?) and the Pats will lose. Wouldn't that be great! However, the important thing is to beat the Chargers Sunday. Then, we can worry about who we play the next week.

I agree with Greencastle. We will bring the A game this week but this would be an upset similar to our beating the #1 seed Denver Broncos with Elway in 1996. No other explanation for all the comments from Colts fans except they are scared of the Pats. Brady and company are not going to lose this year.

To: Robert Ross, I agree completely with you. Not only do I have confidence in the Colts beating the Chargers, they will absolutely shred them. It won't even be close with Peyton's regular receivers playing, and the first string defense. I predict another Baltimore rout. The Chargers are a joke. I'm more worried about J-ville.

So you are telling me that the Chargers are going to hold us 1 touchdown and only 2 field goals.

Maybe you are thinking you are on some peewee football site. Give me a break

San Diego has always played well against the Colts and as shawn phillips said yesterday, they are going to put as much pressure on manning as possible. I'm not saying manning can't handle it, but he and the colts fans shouldn't be too quick to call this game a W for the colts.

My yes, who could disagree: the Colts will utterly annihilate the Chargers, it will be a rout, you all are absolutely correct. The fact that the Chargers put up as good numbers on both sides of the ball as any team for the last six weeks of the season is irrelevant. And now their best receiver, Gates, is out! But you won't mind if the Chargers have the nerve to show up for the game, will you? You know, just to be good sports, show the fans a good time... Now you can return to reading your press clippings, and the Chargers will go back to practice. Not that it matters: The Titanic, I mean the Colts, are unsinkable!

"...the Colts will utterly annihilate the Chargers..." Vegas disagrees, the opening line was 7.5 points: hardly a rout. You usually get 3 points just for being the home team anyway.

7.5 is not a small spread. Also, it has grown to 8.5 which goes to show that most people think it is going to be a blowout because they were betting the Colts at -7.5
