Didnt Orton just have competition last year ? Will every year we bring in different QB's and then have them battle it out for one year shots at being the Bears QB ?

Orton beat out the QB that took the bears to the SB for the starting job and now we are supposed to believe that Boller would be enough to push him ?

Orton has had to work for everything hes gotten so far from the Bears .I dont think a new QB would help him . How about we try and help him out with coaching and surrounding him with more talent on the offensive side of the ball.

And just who, exactly, did Peyton Manning have to compete against in his career? His rookie year, there were no other QB's on the roster, his 2nd and 3rd years he competed with an old Steve Walsh, Billy Joe Hobert and Kelly Holcombe...these are top notch veteran competitors? The rest? Well, there was Brock Huard, Cory Sauter, Jim Sorgi. I suppose Mark Rypien in 2001 might fit the bill.

Come on, how about we actually find some playmakers around Orton who can hold on to the ball, and let Orton get some time in with them? He competed for and won the job last year from an experienced veteran (don't laugh - he did play in a SB, LOL)

How about we realize that Orton is really bad and that no matter what the talent you put around him is, he will still stare down receivers and not be able to throw the deep ball. The fact of the matter is the whole division is getting better and the Bears are getting worse. Cutler is a dynamic option at QB that can make plays with his legs and his incredibly strong arm. Ortons arm is average at best and horrible on anything over 15 yards. Orton will be 28 next season, not at all young for a QB. His development is over, hes been in the league 4 years and you can only go to your ceiling, which he has reached. Its sad enough that we have to put up with him QB'ing at all let alone be the unchallenged starter which he will be knowing the Bears. Better wideouts would only make Orton look worse because he would not be able to hit them down the field. He has 2 of the better tight ends in the league and it takes them making miraculous catches to make plays. Brandon Lloyd is his short time with the team made a ton of highlight reel catches off of awful throws. The guy just isnt a starter, hes a backup. They should go for Leftwhich a guy with slightly better mobility a much better arm and the talent to win games.

The Bears must be secretly rebuilding.

I would not be shocked if Jerry traded out of the first round for an additional pick in the second and/or third.

That's the Jerry I know!

I have resigned to the fact that if a player has all world talent, a gamebreaker, difference maker, playmaker, and a guy that can bring the Bears one step closer to a championship they are not interested.

We would rather pick up garbage and retreads and suffer through another season.

what a joke. Kyle Boller is going to push Orton for the QB job? Orton can easily beat out Boller. It's a waste of energy to pursue Boller.

I'm sorry Danny, but if the Bears have ANY remote shot of getting Cutler they should do what it takes to make it happen. We haven't had a franchise QB since Luckman who last played 6 months prior to the invention of the wheel.
If you wanna push Orton and he wants to push himself, beat out Cutler. That would prove something.

Actually Justin Orton will be 27 next year.Hes still just 26 right now . Its amazing how many "Bears fans' dont even know who they are knocking.

You think Leftwich has mobility ? OMG !!

How many catches did Lloyd make after week 4 ?

We have the only fans in the league who think that every pass a QB throws is betwen the numbers . You must be Hesters agent to believe that.

How many of Warners throws over 15 yards hit Fitgerald and Boldin between the numbers in the playoffs ? The ability to go and get the ball is the difference between being good and being great and we didnt have anyone on our roster like that. That you somehow mention Lloyd who is basically a NFL gypsy is crazy.

Orton needs to improve as does the entire team but hes not nearly as bad as you are making him out to be . If he can be as bad as you say and throw for nearly 3000 yards then omg if we inserted Kurt Warner or dynamic Cutler into the same offense with the same players he would throw for OMG !! 5000 yards.

I think the Bears should trade their first rounder to the Browns for Derek Anderson. Maybe throw in next years second rounder too. After all he was a pro bowl quarterback.

Actually he hit Boldin in the numbers a lot, you don't hit Fitz in the numbers unless he is wide open, you throw the ball up for him and let him battle for it, thats just the kind or reciever he is. Thats actually a style of play and a very tough throw to make.

Bears are stuck with Orton this year, but people need to stop comparing him to Manning, or Warner or even Cutler or any of the top QB's he does not have close to there level of talent. He is a system QB, with weak arm, bad mobility and ranked 25th in completion percentage so he is not very accurate either. He is a scrapy QB and does his best with what he has but he is no more than a decent backup playing starter. Short fields given to the offense by special teams helped this team a lot. Not mention special team scoring won at least two games last year and special teams play accounted for about 4 wins total. I am all for Toub being promoted.

last week on article by these dream on writers.
Bear fan wake up,

Like i said last week, these writers are behind Bears on propaganda.
Bears are so miser, it is not funny. These writers know that.
And why they spend money on other players? because of salary cap folks..

What is salary cap? Are these writers mentions on any article on real cap? if it was White sox, these traitors writers will be spinning their wheel.

Folks, forget it, Bears are not going to win. Period. This is biggest joke, headline from writers making you believe.
It was different headline last week, and now people on Score are mad and this writer is spinning .

Forget it. I could care less. Bears are Mackesky and his mom's team and very cheap.
They are not spending full cap money folks!!!!! He is hiding behind his mom and Ted Phillips.

Absolutely right about the inability to throw downfield. Glad my second favorite team (Falcons) has a real quarterback. I'm not sure giving Kyle a burner would help him that much. How 'bout some line help

I know this will never, ever happen, but I would like to see the Bears go after Matt Leinart. He has been in the NFL for 3 full seasons now and was benched after some bad games. Arizona is going to bring back Warner for at least 2 more years. That would mean Leinart would be in his 6th season before he gets a chance to start again. I think he would welcome a trade with a chance to start for another team and I think he is going to be a very good QB. As long as he can put down the beer bong.

No Bears fan in their right mind would dream that this pitiful franchise would entertain the notion of Jay Cutler.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Taurus

If your goals are fairly modest in the short term, they are achievable and you're likely to get some praise for achievements along the way. If you aim too high too quickly, others might not take you seriously or think you're being uppity and you could come unstuck. It's all a question of attitude and approach. There are contradictory influences over the next ten days but there could also be good luck coming your way.
