I am a true purple Vikings fan. I have said all season long that Marcus Robinson is the best big play wide receiver on the team. Good things happen when Marcus is on the field. Too bad coach childress did not or would not realize this fact. I personally wish Marcus well in his future endeavors. Coach childress is a joke. He is stubborn and demeaning. These are men repeat men he is dealing with. They should be treated with respect. Coach Childress is always talking about what he sees on tape. He should take his head out (from you know where) and become a bit more positive with a touch of ingenuity to get the Vikings offense moving. This entire team truly reflects the personality of coach Childress and his entire coaching staffing. That is boring, lackluster and more boring. Clearly all this great Viking talent is not responding to coach Childress. This team is truly an under achiever.

Agreed! Childress is the worse. I blame the whole lost season on him. Hope he has enough sense to end the season with a loss so we can get a high draft choice, but with him as coach, who knows. Childress, and his ego, should get fired, or, at least, made to accept the fact that he can NOT call the plays.

It's funny how he says so many times, "I don't want to be a knee-jerker." But wasn't releasing Robinson knee-jerking.

As a UK fan of the Vikings this is the worst team I've seen for 20 years!!!

Defensively can be good but offensively an absolute disgrace. QB position is a joke. Childress is a joke.

Remember Dennis Green and the years we used to rule the division. We've been absolute garbage since.

Somebody has to do something soon!! WTF even the Bucs have managed a Super Bowl win!!!

Draft choices and free agents, we will be just find. We just need to coach Jackson up. He's the quarterback.

I can't imagine why childress wasn't allowed to call plays in Philly -- maybe they wanted to score points, move the football and win games. What has become obvious is that if you aren't in lockstep with the punative moron you will be on the bench or off the team.

I think Mr. Wilf really wants to build a winning team so I hope he has enough brains and courage to fire the idiot coach quickly (before he has a chance to get rid of any more talent or make draft decisions).

I can't believe we didn't even have the pride to set the rushing yards aloud in a season record. we just barely missed it. That's one thing I was hoping for this season and childress didn't even address that. It would have went a long way with the way we carried ourselves on defense next year. I'm not sold on childress yet and I think he's going to put us in the basement of the division for as long as long as he run's the offense this way

I don't really care what the stats say; We are exactly like the Raiders, except that we stop the run and they stop the pass.

OK, why was Childress about to be let go by the Eagles? Well, we just saw why. The Wilfs have bad people informing them of what to do. They are into real estate, not sports. Not only does Childress has to go, but the people who put him there, too. It does not matter what player they let go or bring in, the coach still is a cold, sloppy, ignorant leader who only scares his players and employees. Fear will NEVER provide a championship. NEVER.

I've been a Vikings fan since 1969 and this is the 1st time I can remember not having any confidence whatsoever in regards to the Vikings ability to improve next year. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Childress is just plain brutal! I have never seen so anemic play calling ever. He never makes any adjustments. How many times are we going to 3rd and 9 and he calls a 2 yard pass play? How about half time adjustments? Most coaches and staff figure out what adjustments need to be made either offensively of defensively and you almost always see improvement in the 2nd half. Not this knucklehead. I watched every game this season and there were no signs of any adjustments! Defense - when we blitzed the QB we had great success against the pass, but it was always on 1st and 2nd downs for the most part. 3rd down we would fall back in coverage and you know what happened with that philosophy. Great against the run? If a team knows it can pass on you at will, why run? Just ask Brady or Pennington or any QB in the league. Offence - I do not place a lot of Blame on Johnson. He did not get great protection from our overpriced offensive line. He did not have any go-to receivers. The receivers he did have seemed to never get separation or dropped the ball. And every time they dropped a pass it was always a key game situation. And of course, the ole 2 yard pass plays that were called all season long on 3rd and 6,7,8,9,10, etc by the mastermind Childress will make any QB look bad. I'm not too excited about Tarvaris either as he's looked terrible in both starts. Oh, and if you closed your eyes and heard the results of every play during Tarvaris's starts, you would think Brad was still playing. You have a totally different player in Tarvaris, but Childress called the same exact plays as he did for Brad! This is unbelievably scary! Williamson has got to be the worst wide receiver I've ever seen! We actually pay him? What happened to Kleinsasser and Wiggins? Childress never got either of them involved in the game. The aspect that scares me the most about Childress is that he does not have any clue as to how to coach / manage a team. He is stubborn to the point of ignorance. The 1st sign of insanity is when you continue to do the same thing and expect different results. Sounds like Childress to me. Zigi, you seem to be a sharp business man, so I hope you will make some changes. 1st and foremost...Childress has got to go!!! You gave him a try, but as we all plainly see, the team is totally dysfunctional and is only going to get worse. I'm sorry all of my long suffering Viking compadres for venting, but every year prior to Childress, I always had some enjoyment during and following the Vikings seasons but this year there was nothing enjoyable and nothing to look forward to!

I feel your pain. Childress is going to continue to change the roster untill it fits his scheme then what. Has he ever had all the right players to fit his "kick ass offense"? How long will that take? What if it still sucks? I don't understand how he can have such confidence in his offensive schemes when we had 1 good offensive game all year. When has he had so much success running it?

Fact is his offense only works good in theory. I would hate to have another season like this only to hear Childress say, "those guys", "not exicuting", "you've got to take care of the football". He should be pointing that finger at himself.

Here's what we need to do: get Steve Mariucci for our offensive coordinator. When Childress leaves, Mariucci can step into the Head Coaching role.

Childress could not hamdle Terrel Owens in Philadelphia, and now he has an agenda...... sit, de-activate or cut anyone that might think their own thoughts.
Childress is 'righting' the past, living in the past, and the Vikes and the players and the fans are paying for it.......
......this is a selfish man....

......this is SOOOOO stupid.

It's a shame that we could'nt bundle all these posts up on this page and send them to the Wilfs (But they're probably too busy rooting for "Their" Giants) so they could see what a cross-section of Viking fans are feeling right now.
Wouldn't matter though, they still made 16 mil off the Vikings this year...

Just a thought..........it occurred to me that the Childress regime could be just a puppet regime......

Maybe the Wilfs want Coughlin or Parcells or some other big shot that may become available......

But, Dec 31 was 'fan appreciation day' at the Dome.....and it was so LAME!!!!! Two-bit door prizes and atrocious crap for entertainment. This guy is Red McCombs without Moss or any football sense.

Zigi has run this ship aground.

New Head Coach and new QB.

When was the last time the Vikes had a "good" QB that wasn't old and been around for ever? Culpepper looked good and to be fair was poor in Miami.

We need an established top rank QB to drive the offense or otherwise we will be canno fodder for seasons to come.
