I was surprise the phins didn't take a chance on Colt in the last couple of rounds in the draft. Now I see why, this guy is just too good. Beck still sucks, so I see him with the fins for awhile.

Beck looked like a beast in the preseason last year too. Its meaningless, unless they can do it against first teamers in games that count.

After watching Colt Brennan destroy the Colt's secondary last night,I can't remember seeing a rookie quarterback in his first NFL game look so sharp since Marino! Why did'nt the Dolphins take him in the late rounds? The guy was a Heisman finalist and they cretainly had enough draft picks to take a chance and bring him into camp. He sure would be an improvement over the 3 stooges that we have now!

Brennan slipped in the draft because he lacks down field arm strength.

He played against playes who will be on the street in 3 weeks. Let's see him repeat that performance with Freeney and Bob Sanders on the field.

No offense or anything, but Brennan was playing against 4th and 5th string guys who will most likely be cut next week. I wanna see what he can do against an NFL teams starting roster, before I can say he is any good.

Were you asleep when he launched that 28 yard pass? Seems like he had more than enough arm for that. Now that his hip's fixed, I expect to see a lot more of his arm strength showing.

Great job, Colt! You No Ka 'Oi, Bruddah!

First, the questions surrounding Brennan were mostly related to mechanical problems. He drops his arm and throws from a 3/4 slot similar to David Carr. It's extremely difficult to throw a deep ball from that slot so that translated into a perception of lack of arm strength. Also, 28 yards is not a deep ball. 45+ yards is a deep ball.

Second, another (and arguably bigger) question surrounding Brennan is the fact that he played in a mid-major conference in a system tailored to his strengths. Essentially, he was playings scrubs in a pass-only offense. In the past it has been difficult for quarterbacks in these types of college systems to be successful in the NFL in a pro-style offense.

Finally, I am not knocking on Colt. I agree that he looked good, and he is a confident/cocky guy who brings some attitude to the team, which is needed. It is way way WAY too early to make a judgment on whether he is/will be good. But it was an impressive first showing. Only time with tell.

Hail to the Skins!
