Colt WILL make the team. After his performance at the HOF game, the 'skins can't afford to place him on the practice squad. Practice squad players are not protected, and can be signed by any team. What team wouldn't want a QB who could step in at a moment's notice and light up the scoreboard? As for Zorn's criticism of Colt, he's just trying to keep Colt grounded and focused on improving every day. He will soon come to realize that Colt can make throws that very few QB's can (threading the needle). Like a teenager with a learner's permit, Colt has to earn his mentor's trust. As of yet, he has not earned that trust. Its only one game, but it was a great first step in what is hopefully a lengthy, star-studded career. Colt has the "IT" factor that very few athletes have. He has already become a fan favorite. How many third-string NFL QB's have had as much media attention and internet blogging (Haters/Fans) as Colt?

Zorn should learn what to say in public. Including, his assistant coach. They could always scold him in the privacy of the office or locker room. I was disappointed how the coaches reacted - without class.

A champion will always do whatever it takes. Way to go Colt! And I'm sure that as Colt continues to progress, he'll be an even more valueable asset in the years ahead.

It's okay...Colt knows what's going down and can handle the coach's public criticism. It's obvious he's got the fans already. He really needed this win! REDEMPTION!!! We love you, Colt...

Bottom line is coach Zorn doesn't pay colt's salary, the owner doe's! and all the owner is
concerned about is winning games and going to
the Super Bowl and he want's player's who has
an winning attitude that can take him there and
that is why he rehired his old coach and quaterback that once took him there. The owner
will do what ever it take's to put the Redskins
back in winning form and Mr. Zorn is also new
on the coache's roster, so his track record is just as raw as Colt's. But watch! if the Redskins
start to lose X-amount of games, guess who'll
insert Colt into the starting line-up and it
won't becoming from the sideline, of course we
will never know who made that decision on
grounds of respect for the game, it's player's
and coaches, right! So where is the respect!

Bruddah Kaipo knocked me out with the "it is what it is" cliche. Good one brah! Was waiting for the "at the end of the day" one. How about "at the end of the day, it is what it is"? Say what? Have not heard these stung together on ESPN yet. But it's still early.

As for Colt, he made three very nice throws: The ones over the shoulder of his receiver and in the corner of the end zone could only be caught by his guy! Either Manning would have been damn happy to make the side arm delivery at the goal line.

However, "at the end of the day", let's not get too carried away. He's got a hell of a long way to go to be a good starting QB in the NFL. Very solid start.

I think Zorn is right. But it doesn't take away anything Colt did either. All good things... Colts learns from his wild decision making, and his confidence gets a major boost from what he did in that game.

Simply a positive way to start the year. Colt: stay focused, be patient, watch game films, close your ears and eyes to the negatives, and practice like you're starting every game.

You'll do just fine.

And by the way, what's with the bruised buttocks? Damn your girlfriend must have really liked the performance!

Its just not right, where are all the negative comments? Where have they all gone? What has happened to all the Colt haters? There was so many of them a few weeks ago. Where is Alice? I was sure even she would find something negative to say about Colt. Man what is this world coming to?

Someone should remind Zorn that every pass is a risk. And the old timers believe when the ball is thrown, 3 things could happen and 2 of them are bad (incompletion or interception).

i dont know if it was jealousy or if zorn wants to protect his qb from getting banged up again...looking at colts footing and throwing style does leave colt vulnerable...he just recovered from his surgury so of course zorn wants to protect the teams investment...but he played much better than the sugah bowl game...
