Can't decide why I am more excited for opening day - to see the A.D. and Harvin dynamo or the fact the annual Favre summer saga will be over.

SERIOUSLY...ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Favre needs to just hang it up. You had your time and it's now up. If you want to be in the game that bad, go and be a coach or coordinator somewhere! We are all sick of the wishy-washy behavior...even us die hard Favre fans!

I mean, COME ON...were all going to post about this sooner of later, right?
Again, and for the same reason they took the chance on Harvin, the triangle knows the team is built for NOW minus a real proven QB (anyone notice we don't have one?). Hands down they want Favre to come in no matter what smoke screen they blow.
Too many things adding up. I got a hunch it's going to happen. Not saying it should, just saying.
Oh...and they need a stadium. Now. A Super Bowl appearance/win would help with that.

Please stay retired.
Go work with charity or better yet, instead of coming out of retirement, just come out of the closet instead.

I predict Favre will sign with the Vikings, and lead them to their first ever championship.

California, Florida, Canada, Indiana... you Packer fans sure are spread out. Somewhere, the Chillmeister is speed dialing one number: 4, and it's being answered. What will Favre want to play for Minnesota's first superbowl winning team? I'll be he'll take the league minimum for graybeards. If for no other reason than to teach Jackson how to get sacked without rupturing a tendon, we need Favre. Besides, halfway through the season, when old Brett gets tired, we'll have adequate backups.

Bizarre but looking at early polls and comments (esp. the Strib) Viking fans seem much more open to Favre this year than last. Looks as if even the diehard T-Joke supporters have given up on Clueless' failed pet project. The Vikes should definitely make a serious run at signing Favre - better late than never. The only way the whole Sage/T-Joke/Cutler mess makes any sense at all is if this was in the works all along. I'd still rather have had Cutler for the long term but Favre at his worst is better than the garbage the team has now. The respect that Favre would command and the fear Harvin could generate should open huge holes for Peterson. Favre hoisting the Lombardi Trophy as a Viking would be absolutely priceless...

He did hang it up this year. The Jets just announced that he is a free agent, and the media is speculating. I'm sick of him too but Favre didn't say anything about wanting to come out of retirement...Get mad at the media for putting this meaningless article out there.

oh god, please please pleeeeeze sign BF. There is still plenty left in his tank. I love him so much!!!! And, he will fit in with all the other ex-sconie player and coach retreads here!!!! Maybe he will buy us a new stadium with his pocket change. I read that Brad C (see retread remark) has agreed to change team colors to grass and yellow just for him! Where do I sign up for Super Bowl tickts?

If we get Farve:

Farve back to pass, looks left - fires a bullet, CAUGHT by Harvin, Harvin deeks a defender AND THERE HE GOES THIRTY, TWENTY, TEN, TOUCHDOWWWWWWNNN!!!!!(Many of those)

Farve gets the snap, pumps once... throws up a bomb.... COMPLETE TO BERRIAN!!! ITS A FOOTRACE!! THIRTY... TWENTY...AT THE TEN... FIIVE... TOUCHDOWWWWNNN!!!!(A few of those too)

Farve sets, Vikings in a Triple T formation, Peterson, Harvin and Chester Taylor in the backfield.... the hike... Farve fakes the handoff to Harvin - Peterson darts to his right, jukes, SPINS, and THERE HE GOES 40, 30, 25, HIGH-STEPS A TACKLER 20, FIFTEEEN, TEN, TOUCHDOWWWWN ADRIAN PETERSON!!!!(Many, many of those...)

Now. Here's the play by play for Tarvaris Jackson:

Jackson with the snap... he's in trouble, rolls out of the pocket, throws to Shiancoe... incomplete thrown too high...(many, many of those)

Here's the snap... Jackson looking, looking... he rolls left... fires and its PICKED OFF, that pass nowhere near his intended target Sidney Rice...(tons of those)

Jackson gets the snap... he has to hurry!!!- he fires over the middle and its a one-hopper incomplete. Ooh what a wobbly pass by Tarvaris Jackson and the crowd is booing... as thats the fifth three-and-out for the Vikings this afternoon...(a few of those until Childress is invariably fired)

Sage will be a blend of both.

WOW The only reason people are having this talk is because at 40 Farve is better than anything else the Vikings have. But don't worry if thge Vikings did sign him Chilly would make TJ the starter.

I'm of the mind that Brett is done playing for good, but you Vikings fans don't want to let it go (nice Photoshop job, PP!). As a Packers fan, I would be very sad if Brett plays for the Vikings.

On another topic, why oh WHY does anyone think that having the NFL draft during prime time would be interesting IN THE LEAST! I've accidentally turned on ESPN before/during the draft, and it's hours of non-stop drivel - blah, blah, blah!!!! Best thing for an insomniac, but not much else...

Or the all time TD, yardage, and completion leader? Or somebody who has twice gone to the Super Bowl, including one victory?
