And...?

The title to this article makes it seem as if we are going to lose someone of significance. We have been preparing for the Birk departure and Sharper is, well old. Kleinsasser, Fred Evans and Napoleon Harris would be nice to have back, but everyone else, bye bye.

Let's draft us a QB, a couple O-linemen, a fullback and shore up the defensive line for the suspensions of the Williams.

Agreed. Although Farwell might be the best bang for the Purple buck. Tough to get everything in the draft - the salary cap boys better get creative and figure out a way to get a couple significant free agent additions.

I hope that the Management and decision-makers will be able to put together a "great" team not just a "good" team for next season. Only thing that fans want is to win, win, win, win, and keep on winning. Bring a Super Bowl win to Minnesota. Then perhaps there will be a new stadium. If not, welcome LA Vikings.

really...i would try to hold on to kleinsausage and birk just cause they are career vikings and generally do a good job (i know a lot of people will smack talk birk, but he is still better than %80 of centers in the league and he is a MN boy). besides that hold on on heath farwell for special teams, and politely wave goodbye to the rest of the bums.

Dump Sharper + Frerrotten (old n slow), Tahi, Ryan Cook, Harris, Herron (all s-u-c-k-). Re-sign Birk/KLeinsasser to a 1yr vet min deal take it or leave it . Charles Gordon and Farwell are worth signing but coming off major knee injuries... Brandon Sumrall (cb) and Braden Jones (te) are worthy of roster spots. Mills needs to be cut. Vikings need a stud QB, RT, WR

Big demand for a low snapping center. He would look great in a Green Bay or Chicago uniform

Kleinsassar, Farwell, and Kenechi Udeze are the only three that I would resign. The Vikings need some help in the secondary for the pass stopping ability. The linebackers have done a very good job (even with out EJ).

These are the main things that the Vikings would need to a Super Bowl Champion: 1. young quarterback that can pass and run play action plays (a QB that is not afraid to run a pitch out while on the run), 2. some stronger Offense linemen (to give the QB some time to throw), 3. some new plays other than the ones that all the rest of teams have, and 4. defensive backs (to stop passes)..

For the people that think that Childress has an easy job, I give you a test to see how easy that it is: GO TO YOUR LOCAL YOUTH SPORTS AND BE A COACH to see what it is like. You only get out of the overpaid crybabies what they are willing to give to you. Yes, Brad may not be the best coach that the Vikings have had; but what says that you would find a better coach?????

Sign Birk, Farwell, Kleinsasser. Sharper appears to be slowing, and I don't know that he's starting material anymore.

Birk is still a top 5 center, they should resign him.

Agee on all with the exception of Sharper, playing the Tampa 2 isn't really suited for his style of play.

They could lose a dozen or more off that list without any sweat.Hopefully they will finally draft a dominating right tackle and guard[Oklahoma happens to have that winning crew}.Why not add a 285 lb fullback and a 300 lb former tight end/tackle to further seal that side of the line when you run the ball on first and second downs. That is the draft we've all been waiting for!

The only two worth re-signing are the two whose absences were felt the most, Farwell on special teams and Gordon as the nickel back. How many bone-headed mistakes did Sapp make as nickel? Gordon was playing at a very high level when he broke his ankle. Sharpers absence will improve our D tremendously as will the return of EJ.

I said it yesterday, and I'll say it again today. I would have fired the special teams coach shortly after the game, and after waking up this morning, I would have called the special teams coach, got him out of bed, and fired him again.

The good thing about the Vikings free agents are that none of them are really game changers except for Birk, Sharper, and Kliensasser. When you look at wear and tear of the those three players, it would be a good idea to let two out of the three go. Kliensasser should be retained because he is a good lead blocker, and with a guy like Adrian Peterson in your backfield you should provide him with the best blocking you can afford. For the rest of those free agents, you take the best out of that bunch. Minnesota need to inject new blood without hurting production and maintain the course. Considering, Minnesota will retain their head coach for next season, you may get the same results from his previous two seasons (sucks).

Ok, Farwell has to be re-signed because he is the special teams captain. I would also sign Jimmy K back, not as a TE, but FB. Why can't the Vikings have a legitimate FB. Somebody that goes out and hammers guys. This guy is a great blocker, something we need in front of Adrian. I also wouldn't mind seeing him catch a few out of the backfield.

The rest can go. They're either trash, or too much money for their age/performance.

of all the names on that list, well Birk is the only one worth a dime anyway.....and to quote the article" specail team's star Haeth Farwell"...who said he was a star?...Klink?...yea, figures...easy to be a star when you get injured in the first game of the year and sit out the rest...another moronic statement by either Klink himself or the writer of this article......
