Walter Payton was the greatest. Never went out of bounds and played like a stud. Madieu may be a great guy-there are millions of great guys out there but this award in my opinion shoud have gone to a Green Bay Packer player because they are all winners tonight. Chris Carter was a self serving recovering drug abuser with an out of control ego. I know nothing about Midieu but I hope he treats women and children well and lives a spiritual lifestyle.

“any questions?”

great, madieu won the walter payton award, I guess that award has nothing to do with how good of a football player you are on the field then huh. Its great and all that he's serving the community but I wish he was also good at playing safety too. RELEASE HIM ALREADY!

Unfortunate the way that trophy slipped right through his paws and hit the turf.

Williams is a very charitable player, giving up copious amounts of yardage to opposing teams each and every week.
Aside from that, kudos to him for donating his time and resources to make world a better place.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of the award. And by the way a member from each team had a chance to win this award, but apparently the act of walking past a cancer patient really hurt Rodgers's chances.

I have to admit I was tempted to take a cheap shot too.

The truth is Madieu may not be the best safety in the world but he is contributing in an arena that is more important and makes a difference for others. God bless you and congratulations on this recognition that you probably didn't seek for yourself.

Tx for the laugh.... On the other hand, nice job "off the field" Madieu. We need more caring people like you and less safetieas like you.

Sounds like we're all in agreement. Congrats to him for being recognized for what he does off the field...far to few guys like him in professional sports. That said, the Vikings need to release him and find a safety that can make plays.

I am happy for the man.

I hope he enjoys playing in whatever city the Wilfs are able to fool into believing they should build a free stadium for a millionaire with a football team.

Congratulations to Madeiu. I can't say I was pleased with this guy's play over the past couple of years, but there's nothing negative to take from this award. If he's not back next year, I hope he goes someplace where he can have some success.

Why build a school, when he could have bought a batmobile lamburgini, or a big diamond earing or something?

Holy moly, Rocky. A Viking player in the news for a reason other than breaking laws. First time in a while: Congrats, whatever your name is...
